## **OUR AIMS**
The Charity's object is to advance the education of the public in particular, but not exclusively, in Senegal by the provision of grants for the construction, refurbishment and decoration of elementary schools.
## **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document**
We aim to provide a first-class education to the deprived people of Subsaharan West Africa; Our initial target is to work closely with Senegal's local communities with a goal of "Education for All". We strive to provide a structured educational atmosphere to our less fortunate members of the society to nourish and enrich their natural aptitudes, capabilities and talents. We promote our learners' academic, moral and physical development by providing them with an environment where they can flourish their inbuilt abilities. We have observed learners coming to a local school in their daily life clothes, sitting on mats instead of chairs, holding their books instead of tables, renting a property instead of having a proper building.
FACE planned to help them upgrade in the year 2019-20 by providing school uniforms, chairs and tables.
## **OUR OBJECTIVES**
Our objectives are the reflection of our aims. It's critical to us that we sustain and improve the standard of the FACE.
In establishing our objectives and planning our activities this year, our Trustees have given thorough consideration to the Charity Commission's public benefit guidance. However, these objectives are set in the context of the broader goals we set for the Charity itself.

The Trustees of the Foundation for African Children's Education present their annual report and accounts for the year ended 30th April 2020 and confirm they comply with the requirements of the Charities act 2011 and the Charities SORP ( FRS 102). **REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES Face Registered Status** Trustees had several meetings to document the charity's constitution and then applied for registration with Charity Commission England & Wales. Charity Commission approved charity registration on 14th June 2019. **Working Protocol with Humanity First Senegal** Naeem Ahmad Sadiq, chairman of the charity, visited Senegal to establish a working relationship with Humanity First Senegal and saw all the potential project sites. A virtual meeting was held with Mr Nasir Ahmad Siddhu, Chairman Humanity First Senegal, on 10th January 2019. A detailed working plan was discussed and agreed upon between the parties. **Chairman FACE Visits to Senegal** Naeem visited Senegal in Feb / March 2020 and had several meetings with the Chairman of Humanity First Senegal (HFSl) and their working body. This visit was in continuation of his previous visit to Senegal in Jan 2019 to help establish a better working relationship with HF Senegal. Naeem met with the Board of Governors of FACE Elementary School Tambacounda Senegal (FACE-EST) on 25th Friday, 2020. He visited Tambacounda and met various dignitaries for FACE-EST registration, guided and helped set up the Board of Governors and held multiple meetings. He saw the land donated for the School and assisted in planning for the forthcoming construction. He discussed the water facilities at the proposed site, and HFSl agreed to have their water well at the site for School. Naeem also held a meeting with parents of the students FACE-EST who thanked FACE UK for looking after their children's education. In a ceremony on 26th saturday, 2020 with parents, he distributed school uniforms to 73 students. He also handed over 50 tables and 100 chairs for the students to the school administration. He signed an agreement by virtue of which HFSl would be responsible for running, maintaining and disciplining the School and will send a report to FACE UK regularly.

It was agreed that the School is following the government set syllabus for schools and implementing local government rules.
Naeem also had a meeting with the Board of Governors of FACE Sewing School Rufisque Dakar (FACE-SSR) on 28th February 2020.
Board members said that HFS has agreed to provide ten sewing machines initially. Naeem decided that FACE UK will use some donation money to pay for the renovation, electric work, and environmental improvement.
Naeem supervised the work, and all work was completed during his visit, and he attended the inauguration ceremony of FACE-SSR on 11th March 2020.
Naeem had a very successful visit as both the projects were completed during his stay as per the protocol signed with HFSl.
## **Land Acquisition to Build School**
Humanity First Senegal acquired land of 3 hectares, of which 1 hectare was allocated to the FACE Elementary School in Tambacounda, Senegal.
## **Elementary School Upgrade**
We took following initiatives to accomplish our aim, "Education for All":
1. Identified a local school with a capacity of 100 students in Tambacounda, Senegal, to upgrade its facilities to promote education for the local community by spending £111.
2. Enhanced the facilities by providing tables and chairs for the selected school classrooms by spending £2,395.
3. Installed ceiling fans in the School classrooms to provide education in a comfortable environment by spending £43.
4. Provided school uniforms to seventy three deserving pupils of the School by spending merely £295 by hiring a local sewing person's services to sew all uniforms instead of buying ready-made uniforms from the market.
## **Setting up of Vocational School**
1. Established a new vocational school, FACE Sewing School Rufisque, in partnership with Humanity First Senegal.
2. The local community Refusic Dakar Senegal donated a hall which we refurbished with plastering, painting, tiling and electrification to make a conducive environment by spending £1,009.
## **Establishing Presence**
We developed the website www.faceforafrica.org to promote our charitable activities and to raise funds for the public's benefit. We also built our presence on social media, including Facebook, Twitter,

Instagram and YouTube. We created an official page on the Justgiving platform for collecting donations
## **OUR FINANCES**
The financial statement shows net incoming resources for the year on FACE activities of £ 2,240 and expenses of £3,961 which makes a deficit of £1,721.
The principal source of income is the donation accounting for £ 2,240. The Trustees are maintaining their approach of deploying all net incoming resources to utilise for funding educational projects in " " Senegal Subsaharan West Africa with a motto of Education for All .

Foundation for African Children's Education (FACE) has achieved the following during 2019-20.
1. FACE achieved the registered charity status in England and Wales.
2. FACE signed a working protocol with Humanity First Senegal for the projects to be initiated in Senegal for the benefit of the public.
3. FACE acquired one hectare of land in Senegal to construct its first elementary school in Tambacounda, FACE-EST.
4. Upgraded an Elementary School in Tambacounda by providing ceiling fans and classroom furniture for one hundred students.
5. Provided school uniforms to seventy three pupils of an Elementary School in Tambacounda.
6. Started a vocational institute (FACE Sewing School Rufisque) for women to learn new skills and earn their living.
7. FACE launched its website to promote its charitable activities and raise funds for the benefit of the public.
8. Created our presence on social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
9. Established an official page on the Justgiving platform for collecting donations from across the globe.
