To support the purposes of Mercy Hands Uganda (MHU) for the
public tEnefft in the prevention and relief of poverty, the
advancement of education and health. the relief of those in need
by reason of youth, age. ill health. disabilty, financial hardship, or
other disadvantage. INing in wral and deprived Communities in
Uganda.
The relief of poverty within local ¢ommunities and among the
world's deprived and needy peoples. with particular focus on
Uganda or as detennined by the Truste&s from tim8 to time.
To raise awareress, gather and send funds and resources to
MHU for them to provide buildings. facilities and items including
dothing, food, eduotional resources, payment of staff and
teathers. and other serV￿e$ and goods in the promotion of
edu&2tion arKI healthcare. clean water, training, and equipment.
The Trustees dedare that they have complied with their duty to

Achievements and performance
No trustee or team visits were made to Uganda this year but regular,
almost daily. contsct was made with Daniel Waddimba- CEO of MHU in
UgarKIa.
All donth.ons and funds raised were forwarded in line wrth the charities,
grant making policy to Mercy Hands Uganda and the spending of the
funds was regularty acwinted for through photographic evidence and
re￿ipts.
Regular donations were fo￿arded periodically for paying staff (teachers,
cooks and a matron) salaries at the Kafumu Project.
In acklition to some loyal regular donors. OMA has again been donating
funds on a morthty basis, and ttEse funds have teen used to help
complete some S￿ffic projects, the most significant one being the full
completion of the cookhouse, Store and warden's room. This year we
saw the completion of the roof, tlooring, paving to protert the foundations,
doors and windows. fftting of fireplaces. This has been a huge
benèfft to them. finally being able to move from tk* lemporary wooden
stru(Xure' cookhouse to a safer. smoke kitthn.

achievements of the charity
during the year
One of our long term volunteers asked for donations to MHU UK in lieu of
wedding grts this year. These donations were sent to MHU in Kafumu to
fumish the new cookhouse
By the end of the year some 240 children were attending Mercy
Hands Nursery & Primary School in Kafumu, with 3 vulnerable
children being residential, some children travelling 5 kms on foot,
and around 850/0 from families unable to pay the small fees to
attend. 15 members of staff teach these children. and INe onsite as
the project is in a remote rural area.
Funds were sent from MHU UK to pay for the registration of the
Nursery School li￿n￿.
The community needs are huge and MHU UK is onty able to make
grants as and when monEs come in. The work at the project is
Su￿ssful due to the volunteer support on the ground and by the

community of Kafumu. Volunteers have run sports days, music
events and assisted the teachers. A sustainable kitchen garden
has been developed to teach new skills to the children. The elderly
are visited and given soap, paraffin, bread, oil and bananas.
The Waddimba family have established a chicken & pig farm.
training frdmilies to build their own business of farming. and egg
production supports the project financially too.
MHU UK as a grant making charTty is inspired by the work of the
MHU Kafumu project and is looking to increase fundraising and
regular donors to help fund the transfomation of lives through
education. health. business enteTprise, upskilling and more.
Electri(xty and clean water are an urgent need for them. once
infrastructure is within reach.
Becoming a registered national exam ￿ntre for the Primary 7
exams- gateway to secondary school level - will benefit the
project by Teducing costs of transporting children to other exam
ntres. enhancing the students experience and academic ability
and also generate income from other pupils coming to the exam
ntre.
We are grateful to our donors for giving fvnding and they can be
assured that every penny is sent 1000/0 to fund such projects, as
we work as volunteers and cover all costs of fundraising.
