**To promote public concerts in Leighton Buzzard for the enjoyment and education of the people of the town and surrounding district. The concerts are performed by professional musicians of the highest quality that can be afforded.**

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|The eight concerts outlined above show<br>our<br>commitment to providing high quality music<br>performances for the enjoyment and<br>educational enrichment of local audiences.<br>We have been able to follow our normal<br>pattern of concerts using St Barnabas’<br>Church<br>for two concerts and Leighton Buzzard<br>Library Theatre for the other six.<br>Attendances at<br>our concerts achieved<br>an average of 83 per concert.<br>To encourage music making by local young<br>people we make an annual award to<br>outstanding students attending the<br>Leighton-<br>Linslade Music Centre held every Saturday<br>at Vandyke Upper School. The centre is<br>run by Central Bedfordshire council’s music<br>service “Inspiring Music”.<br>This award will be made at<br>the end of this Summer term.<br>To encourage young people to attend<br>classical music concerts, we offer_free_<br>tickets to all school students.<br>The wide variety of music and composers,<br>contemporary and diverse as well as<br>classical, that we offer<br>demonstrates our commitment to<br>broadening<br>the musical experience of our audience.|

The cost of hire was increased<br>33.3% last year and consequently we had<br>to increase ticket prices.  We are unaware<br>of any forth coming increase and have not<br>altered our ticket price for the coming<br>season.  Should the hire cost increase<br>before the end of the season it will impact<br>our financial postion.but have enough<br>money to withstand a sharp increase in the<br>short term and in the longer term would<br>have the opportunity to find alternative<br>venues.|
