“Nuns and Roses”
The programme ranges from 12th century abbess
Hildegard of Bingen to Imogen Heap, from Russian
Orthodox hymnody and lilting Celtic ballads to
Norwegian lullabies. Throw into the mix Purcell,
Scarlatti, Ravel, contemporary folk, a comedic
commission and the group’s cover of Sweet Child
of Mine (Guns & Roses) and you have something
for everyone!

commitment to providing high quality music
performances for the enjoyment and
educational enrichment of local audiences.
We have been able to resume our normal
pattern of concerts using St Barnabas’ Church
for two concerts and Leighton Buzzard Library
Theatre for the other six.
We are pleased to report that attendances at
our concerts increased significantly to achieve
an average of 93 per concert.
To encourage music making by local young
people we make an annual award to
outstanding students attending the Leighton-
Linslade Music Centre held every Saturday at
Vandyke Upper School. The centre is run by
Central Bedfordshire council’s music service
“Inspiring Music”. This award will be made at
the end of this Summer term.
To encourage young people to attend classical
concerts, we offer_free_tickets to all under 17
year olds.
The wide variety of music and composers, jazz
and folk as well as classical, that we offer
demonstrates our commitment to broadening
