The trustee5 present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 st May 2025.
The trustees have adopted the provisions ol Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Stolement of
Recommended Proctice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in occordance with the Financial
Reporting Slandord applicoble in the UK and Republic ol Irelond IFRS 1021 lellective l January 20191.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Oblectlves and alms
l. To preserve. protect and odvonce the heollh of the public by reducir)g the ir)cidence ol suicide by young
odu115. In particular. bul not restricted to.. young adu115 Ottending. or undertaking a course of Study. or
contemplating a course of study ol university, college or other lerliary educational inslilulion through, inter alia..
Education of the public. including young adults, educational institutions, relevant professionals, opinion formers
and others. as to the mental health risks associated with young adults. and how the some may be reduced by
various meons including. but not limited lo. raising awareness. grant making. the commissioning ol relevanl
research, the dissemination of relevonl research ond other relevant moterial. The provision ol mental health
support for young adults by various means including. but not limited to. grant making. the development of a
troined and focussed volunteer bose. the utilisotion and deployment of relevant professionols. engagement with
and improvement ol pre-exisling support mechanisms in universities, colleges or other tertiary educational
institutions, and the provision ol addilionol support function.

services to individuals who have experienced bereovement by reoson ol the suicide of young adults, in
particulor, bul not restricted lo., the svicide of young odvlls ottending. or undertaking a course ol study. or
contemplating a course of sludy ot university. college or other tertiary educotional institution.
Signrficant activities
Our peer support progromme, Ted's Friends. continues lo run successfully within sports teoms ot the University of
Brislol Medical School. The scheme is embedded within Galenicals. the medicol students, society representing
over 1,700 students. We provide ongoing consullalive support and training olongside the university's support
teams and coaches. This year. several students have been trained in Mental Health First Aid. with plans to
expand training in the year ahead. This is in line with our stated purpose ol reducing the incidence of suicide by
young adults, in particular, but not restricted to, young adults allending or undertaking a course ol study.
We have continued to grow our online presence through social media campaigns. In 2024. we introduced a
bi-onnuol newsletter. containing charity news. activities and fundroising inlormalion. To sUPPOrt inclusivity. we
olso offer this newsletter in traditional media lor those who do not use social media.
Thi5 year we hove continued to roise awareness of the chorily and offer 5UPPOrt lo our amozing lundroiser5. Our
fundraisers have raised aworeness ol our mission, goining support from across the world. Events have ranged
from locol activities in our hometown ol Usk oll the way to morothons in New Zealand. We also continue to
successfully host our own fundroising evenls occording to our fundroi5ing plon.
Publlc benefll
The trustees have each read The Charities Commission documents, The Public Benefit Requirement,, 'Public
Benelil.. Running a Charity, and 'Public Benefit.. Reporting. They are satisfied that TSF'S purposes and related
oclivilies are beneficial lor a 'suflicienl section of the public,. and have given regard to the guidance 'when
exercising any powers or duties lo which the guidance is relevonl,.

OBJECTIVES AND ACTlVtriES
Granlmaking
We continue to work in porlnership with the Support After Suicide Partnership ISASPI, colloboroling on the
development of new guidonce lor people who have been bereoved. This is in line with our purpose of providing
support and/or counselling services to individuals who have experienced bereavement by reason of the suicide
ol young odulls.
We continue to support und fund James, Place, o London-bosed chority providing free. lifesoving support to
suicidal men oged over 18. Our funding supports profe5sionol therapists offering lolking therapies and proctical
help to service users, working closely with the NHS and other support services. This is in line with our slated
purpose of reducing the incidence of suicide by young adults, in particular, but not restricted to. young adults
attending or undertaking o course of study.
We support the Looseheadz Foundation, a leoding rugby menlol heolth chority, working tirelessly lo support
rugby players and 5UPPOrters across England and Wales. We have supported them through a grant to develop
o rugby-locused mentol heollh module for university students and staff. This is in line with our staled purpose of
odvancing the education into the causes, elfecls and prevention ol suicide by the provision ol training,
workshops ond educotionol resources.
We continue lo collaborole with Public Health Wales. Newport Mind and other locol services in Gwenl to deliver
ond fund suicide first aid training courses. This training provides knowledge ond skills lo support individuals with
suicidol thoughts ond con be opplied in 5everol settings. This troining is in 5UPPOrt of educating and training the
public on the cou5es and effect5 015uicide. wilh reducing the risks of suicide.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Reserves pollcy
We intend lo maintain our reserves ol a level which is al leosl equivalent lo £1 (X),000, which will provide funding
lor our activity in 2025-2026.
A lolal reserves figure ol £1 00.OCQ lo fund anticipated growth ond expansion in granl moking, and a £50,000
contingency. The reserves thal we have sel aside provide financial stability and Ihe means for the development
ol our principal activity and future grant partnerships.
The Finance Committee reviews the number ol reserves that are required every quarter within our Financial
Review meetings to ensure that they are adequate to lullil our continuing obligation5.
The trustees recognise that Ihe chorily is currently in o strong financial posltion. with reserves exceeding our
long-lerm target of £50.000 . Our irnlenlion is lo ulilise these reserves lo support the delivery and expansion of our
mentol health services over the next lew yeors, while moving towards a sustainable model where onnual
expenditure broadly matches annual income.
PRINCIPAL RISKS
The key risks identified al this stage are..

Operational capacify.. Managing growth in activity without overstretching our staffing. volunteer. or governance

FUTURE PLANS
In the year ahead, we will locus on advancing the aims ol the charity, whilst offering support and guidance to
those offected by suicide. We ore developing our grant-moking progromme. with the sole pvrp05e of providing
linoncial assislance in the form ol grants to other individuals. charilies or organisalions. These gronts will be given
to support charities or organisolions in existing or new initiatives that align with TSF'S charitable purposes. We
have developed and established a clear grant-making system.

organisalions and educational establishments and advises on the suicide prevention and self-harm advisory
groups. TSF works in colloborotion with local oulhorities ond heolth partners across Woles.
