MATLOCK DERWENT VALLEY LIONS CLUB CHARITABLE INCORPORATED ORGANISATION CHARITY NUMBER 1183660

ANNUAL ACCOUNTS TO 30[TH] JUNE 2021

The aim of the Charity is the same as Lions international and that is:-

“To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.”

We try and raise money in a variety of different ways in order that we have funds to use to meet the requirements of different groups in the community by way of grants or by helping with the supply of manpower for specific events. Help is mostly given locally but we do support national and international good causes.

However, this financial year covered the period when Covid was rife in the area and we were unable to hold any face to face meetings and none of our usual fundraising activities were possible. With no income therefore, we were unable to help people as we normally do and so donations for the year were very limited. We have started on a project to produce a Peace Garden as a thank you to all those who kept working during the pandemic and as a tribute to those who lost their lives. A donation towards this from a local councillor is reflected in the accounts.

Independent Examinerfs Report Report to the Trustees of 'MATLOCK DERWENT VALLEY LIONS CLUB, Charitable Incorporated Organisation- Charity number. 1183660- year ended 30 June 2021 Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515llbl of the Charities Act, and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's ststement My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. Independent examiner's ststement In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material ￿SpeCt, the requirements: to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act,. and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been rnet or to which. in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be achieved.
