during the
l The year 2024125 has been an excitlng one for DVCC. Our regular Sunday
Services a nd monthly cafe services have been maintained with good
attendan￿ and new folk joining the fellowship.
We continue a Model of "Hybrid Church. using Zoom as well, allowingthose
trom home to join, be seen and participate. The °Open continues to be
popular with a lot of participation.
Prayer walking took place in Eynsford on Tuesday afternoon and West
Kin8sdown and Horton Kirby/ South DareTrth on Thursday mornin8. Many new
people are being met and helped along lrfe's way.
For the fifth year running, and due to popular demand, we rnoved our services
into the open-air during July and August taking advantage of the beautiful
Setting of Anthony Roper School Fields. Our theme was the'l Am's. of Christ.
This all culminated in a communFty barbecue on the Fast Sunday in August
Our warm space and comrnunity hub Yhe Space" continued throughout the
year. Taking place on Wednesday mornings from 9.00am to I.￿pM in the
Riverside Club. A light breakfast. Tea, coffee and cakes served throughout the
Morning with soup and roll (winter) or ploughman's lunch (summer) frorn
12.CQ noon. Various actlvities are provided: Jigsaws. snooker, darts, craftwork
etc and some folk Just Ilke to slt and chat. There Is a dedlcated area for young
children and parents. ITSupport is available with the provislon of 2 cornputers
with internet access. G4B make a monthly visit, our local community police
officer and the local community warden also rnake regular visits. To date we
have an average attendance of over 73 people per week. Several gra nts have
been gratefvlly received frorn the local council to support the artivity.
From our work with people at Yhe Space" we identrfied a very real need
within the community forthe provision of transport, particularly for medical
and key social inclusion appointments. In April we were awarded a grant from
Kent County Council enabling the purchase of a wheelchair attessible vehlcle
(WAV). We then established °Cornmunlty Carf a hybrid scheme wlth
volunteer drivers usin8 both their own vehicles and the WAV. The scheme was
officially launched in October by our local MP. Luara Trott and senior member
of the community, 95 year old Di Grant. To date V￿ have 65 users, 20
volunteer drivers and are performing between 35 and 45 journeys per month.
Another good year for DVCC where we have experienced growth in numbers,
activity and personal character. We look forward to continuing to serve our
comrnunity by practically showing the love of God in the year ahead.
