We expected to take on the<br>lease in early 2020 but Brexit and Covid19<br>slowed building on the part of the Orchard<br>allocated for development, and the lease was<br>not enacted until 20/5/21.|

## **Achievements and Performance**

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|Saturday 26th Feb saw the first training<br>course at the Irvine Road Community Orchard<br>with the 10 participants learning all about how<br>to prune fruit trees. Thank you to<br>@Localgiving’s Magic Little Grants Fund,<br>which is supported by players of<br>@PostcodeLottery, for funding the day.<br>We ran our first Fungi foray on 15 Oct where a<br>local expert led a tour of the Orchard, showing<br>how to identify the various fungi on display.<br>We expect to run a similar event in 2023.<br>We held three open day type events including<br>our first fruit pressing day.<br>Work parties continued throughout the year<br>where the highlights were using a loaned<br>chipper to recycle material generated on-site,<br>installation of  bat and bird boxes and the first<br>four new trees planted and watered, surviving<br>the summer.<br>During the year, we kept people informed of<br>the state of play through the Residents’<br>Association (newsletter, emails, noticeboard<br>and Facebook page) and via the Orchard<br>Facebook page.|
