Section C Objectives and activities

Summary of the objects of the
charity set out in its
governing document
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit)
The object of the charity is the promotion of community participation in
healthy recreation in particular by the provision of facilities for the playing
of sport.
The charity manages, on behalf of local residents and visitors, a
recreation ground consisting of football and cricket pitch, children’s
playground and green space with public right of way to open countryside.
The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity
Commission on public benefit, which for the charity is the advancement
of any sports or games which promote health by involving physical or
mental skill or exertion and which are undertaken on an amateur basis.
Volunteers run the charity.
Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
The recreation ground is maintained to a high standard through the
combined efforts of contractors and volunteers. Cutting continued
through the winter. Volunteers undertook a significant amount of work to
check and maintain the ground and its facilities. Long-time contractor
Mick retired due to ill health, he his thanked for his service.
Tetford Cricket Club practice and hold league matches on the ground,
playing in the East Lindsey Cricket League.
Louth Football Club increased the number of junior football teams using
the ground throughout the year, on 5 v 5, 7 v 7 and 9 v 9 pitches.
Children from the village primary school use the ground for some games.
The majority of activity undertaken on the recreation ground is informal
sports and recreation. The football goals remain in place all year round
and are regularly used for some football practice or a knock about.
A toddler swing and animal rocker were installed in the playground,
adding to the older children’s equipment of swings, spinner and slide.
The annual Terrier Racing fundraiser and social event was badly affected
by poor weather. A small number of dedicated supporters attended an
entertaining but very wet night. A quiz night fundraiser was successful.
Section E Financial review
Brief statement of the
charity’s policy on reserves
The charity aims to hold sufficient financial reserves to cover at least a
year’s expenditure.
Funds are held in a Lloyds Bank current account.

Details of any funds materially None in deficit

Further financial review details (Optional information)

The largest expenditure is the cost of rent, insurance and grounds maintenance.

A significant exceptional item of expenditure was the installation of new play equipment. This was funded by Local Giving Limited’s Little Lottery, East Lindsey District Council, Tetford Garden Club, Tetford & Salmonby Parish Council and the Morrisons Foundation.

The principal source of funds was the annual Tetford Terrier Racing and a quiz night.

Donations continue to be received from organisations and individuals.

The Trustees are very grateful to those individuals and organisations who supported the charity during the year.
