## **PTA Chair Report 21/22**

This year started with Covid’19 restrictions firmly in place until the first signs of relaxing in March 2022. Covid 19 changed the way in which we could fundraise (as with most charities) and we believe we have adapted and tried to raise money in innovative and different ways over the year even with the challenges faced. Until April we were still faced with challenges such as not being able to attend the school other than to collect a child, social distancing, limited on numbers attending etc.

Since last April we have held fundraising activities which are all focused on raising funds for our new library and shelters outside the school building. We have also applied for a number of grants and loans for this cause. Over the course of the financial year we have raised a profit of just under £5k. Our fundraising activities have been:

- Spring Raffle- £143

- Easter Bounce at Home-£977.90

- PTA Treasure Hunt-£432.43

- Own Clothes Day- £225.50

- Rainbow Raffle-£307

- Usbourne Sponsored Read- £1440

- Scary Hair & Fancy dress day- Total Halloween- £381.90

- Selling halloween costumes

- Spooky Lucky Dip

- Xmas for schools- £93.50

- Virtual Xmas Fayre- £100 approx

- Christmas raffle- £594

- Christmas lucky dip- £184

- Virtual Xmas Fayre-

- 22 Coins for Twosday challenge- £383.45

- Mother’s day Raffle- £92

- Amazon Smile- Approx £120

- Your school Lottery- Approx £600

We were also able to hold Christmas and summer events in which we were able to pay for the children to have bouncy castles, lollies and chocolate gifts to celebrate the end of term.

We would like to thank all those that have supported the events from the Committee that help us organise these events, Mr Morris and his team who support us especially Mrs Davies in the office who I speak to weekly if not daily, our volunteers who help us run these events and the

parents and wider community that help us put on the events through participation, donations and sponsorship. It really is a big team effort and without each element we would not be able to raise what we do for the school.

We are already enjoying the new financial year and the removal of Covid restrictions with the return of Frozen Fridays, Easter Bounce in school, sponsored bike ride and end of school party.

As we get to the end of another school year it does mean that some children and also their parents move on. I would like to say a very special Thank you to Stacy Jones who has been instrumental over the years in the PTA and has been Co-chair with me for the last two. Stacy is the reason we achieved Charity status and have been able to grow the PTA to what it is and opened many doors of grants and help we can apply for. She will be greatly missed.

I also want to mention Mr Morris who is stepping down as headmaster after 19 years and will be sorely missed. A big thank you to all the support, help and commitment he has shown to the PTA over the years. We would not be able to do half the events without his backing.

As we look forward we look to appoint a new co chair and our lovely Sarah Kimber has stepped forward for the position.

As things have started to open up we welcome and need new support and participation. All that help with the PTA do so on a volunteer basis and many hands make light work so the saying goes. Please message should you wish to get more involved at any time or have any ideas for fundraising.
