Nursling Men's Shed Charity No: 1183606 Annual Report for 2024125 During the year we continued making and repairing a wide range of items for the local community- in particular wcKKlen garden fumiture and hand tools and implements. We are working in conjunction with local residents. schools and businesses to repair. re-use or recyde items that might otherwise be thrown away. We also support Yools for Self Reliance" in Totton by passing on lo them any tools that have been given to us and we cannot use. We continue to support Hampshire County Council by helping run practical courses for young people in woodwork. electriol installab'ons and plumbing. We ran practiral bird box courses in conjunciion with a lo(xl youth group to gNe them practical experients of making things. We are now open four momings a week and the Ladies Section meet regularfy at the hall on Thursday aftemoon. We have supported the Parish Council in making sure all r defibrillators in the Village are maintained in good condition and software and batteries are replaced as and when needed. A quarterfy inspeclion is carried out. We had another joint open day with St Boniface Church during the year to showcase our skills and show the local community what we had achieved in restoring the church hall to some of its fomer gl(xy. To this end we have cx)ntinued to upgrade the prpmises. repointing brtckwork and upgrading the electrical systems. We received a grant from the Edwina Mountbatten Trust to buy new machinery and install a full dust extraction system. We have raised money to fund our activities from subscriptions, grants, donations and contributions for work we have completed for other5. The Trustees and Commitlee have met on a regular basis approximately every stx weeks.
