The Trustees of Russian Community Group present their annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 August 2023 and confirm they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011, the trust deed and the Charities SORP (FRS 102).

OUR AIMS

The objects of the Charity are for the public benefit, the advancement of education among all ages and abilities in the language, literature, history and culture of Russia and the provision of supplementary education for nursery, primary and secondary school aged children.

REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

There are the following subject and age groups:

Russian as a foreign language – various options for various age groups available (10.00-13.00) Utyata – bilingual group for 2-3-year-olds and their parents (10.20-11.20) Albatrosy - Russian bilingual independent classes for 3-4-year-olds (10.00-13.00) Kakadu - Russian bilingual independent classes for 4-5-year-olds (10.00-13.00) Pelikany - Russian bilingual independent classes for 5-6-year-olds (10.00-13.00) Sokolyata - Russian bilingual independent classes for 6-7-year-olds (10.00-13.00) Orlyata - Russian bilingual independent classes for 7-10-year-olds (10.00-13.00) Sapsany - Russian bilingual independent classes for 10-11-year-olds (10.00-13.00)

The Charity involves volunteers into the activities it provides.

Community access

Russian Community Group is a part of a wider community and where we can assist the community without detriment to advancing the education of our pupils we are delighted to do so. Due to Covid Russian Community Group organised no events this year.

FUTURE PLANS

The Trustees intend to continue their current strategies of maintaining the Charity’s position in a competitive market by investing to provide high quality education for our students. The Charity’s main objective for the future is to establish itself as a centre for the community of people who are interested in the learning of the Russian language and culture, history of the language.

OUR FINANCES

This report includes the period from 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2023.

The financial statements show net incoming resources for the year on Charity activities of £3,772. The principal source of income is fees accounting for 100% of the Charity’s income.

The Trustees are continuing their strategy of deploying all net incoming resources to investing in the educational purposes of the Charity.

As a charity the parents of our students have the assurance that all the income of the Charity must be applied for educational purposes.

As a newly formed and a small charity, we do not have significant reserves. The surplus of £27,824 generated by the end of this reporting period is used to finance ongoing operation of the school.

Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accy)rdance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,). I report In respect of my examlnatlon of the Trust's accounts carrled out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. Independent examinerf8 ststement I have completed my examination. I confimi that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. Accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act: or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or 3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements conceming the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the awunts give a knje and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
