conferences and events through the

Over three sessions ASAP UK hosted an
event on Addressing Poverty After the
Pandemic: challenges and solutions
This session debated some of the biggest
issues emerging from the COVID-19
pandemic.
Over the last 12 months we have seen a
radical change in income and job security
in the UK. Not only have we been
encouraged to rethink who are “key
workers” but many citizens have had to
live on 80% income and unable to work for

poverty.
This session brings together three
panellists to explore the current levels of
poverty in the UK with recently published
research from the Joseph Rowntree
Foundation and a discussion regarding
Universal Credit and the social security
system. The aim is to encourage discussion
about the policies we need to tackle
poverty as the UK emerges out of the
pandemic.

Conference COP26 in Glasgow ASAP hosted
a panel event on:

We had three panellists to speak on the
topics that have arisen at COP26 in line
with their specialisms and the outcome for
children:

crisis reveals and exacerbates existing
poverty and health inequalities, how it

health and how these climate harms have
created a child's rights crisis.
We ran this event as the start of a series of
events with academics and stakeholders
working together to campaign on behalf of
children. In this context, we are also
planning a special issue of the Journal
