The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purpose5 of the Companies Art 2006, present
their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024. The trustees
have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended
Prattice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting
Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffertive l January 20191.
OBJECTIVES AND AcllviTIES
Objectives and aims
Otjr Club strives to offer a safe and friendly environment, celebrating diversity and full inclusion, equal
opportunf(ies and welcomes all age groups to join in and participate in any aspect of the Club's many
activities, to build up their skills, capabilities and confidence thus serving our Community.
ACTivmES UNDERTAKEN FOR THE PU8UC 8ENEFft
In planning the charity's attivities for the year, the Trustees complied with the reqU1￿MentS of $17 of the
Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Main achievements summary
The achievements of the NDMRC can be identified both at a personal level and within the wider
Community. As we are significantly more than just a model train fo¢u55ed group: the activities, and
members interaction elements, have gNen post-covid individuals suffering from personal loss, some focus
and interest. disabled and autistic members an invaluable social asset whilst younger members enjoy the
opportunty to learn more about a great hobby in a safe and reassuring spa￿. By reaching out to the
Community, various social and mental health groups have identified our Club as a valuable resource that
can be beneficial to both parties.
Performance in this instance cannot be measured manufacturing or profit and loss parameters.
Performance however in Community success and benefit. mental health engagement, individual enjoyment
and fulfilment for an ever in¢re3sing number of people. can ￿rtaInty be consiilered positive.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial posltlon
At the end of the financial year, the chartty had unrestricted funds of £37.89012023 - £37.0461. The net
deficit for the year was £84412023- surplus of £15,739).

STRucfuRE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
The Charity in a general meeting shall elect the Officers and other Trustees. The Trustees may appoint any
person who is willing to act as a Trustee and they may also appoint Trustees to art as officers.
Each of the Trustees shall retire WTth effert froTn the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting next after
his or her appointment but shall be eligible for re-elertion at that Annual General Meeting.
No-one may be elected as a Trustee or an OfFicer at any Annual General Meeting unless prior to the
meeting the Charity is given notice that:
lal Is signed by a member entitled to vote at the meeting.
Ibl States the member's intention to propose the appointment of a person as a Trustee or as an officer.
Icl Is signed by the person who is to be proposed to show his or her willingness to be appointed.
The appointment of a Trustee, whether by the Charity in a General Meeting or by the other Trustees, must
not cause the number of Trustees to exceed any number fixed in accordance with the Constitution as the
maximum number of Trustees.

Newhaven & Distrirt Model Railway Club
In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006. we have prepared for your
approval of the financial statements of Newhaven & District Model Railway Club for the year ended 31
Decernber 2024 which comprise the Statement of Financi31 Activities. Balance Sheet and the related notes
from the Charrtable company's accounting records and from inforniation and expectations you have given
us.
As a practising member firm of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales IICAEWI, we
are subject to its ethical and other professional requirements which afe detailed within the ICAEW'S
regulations and guidance at http.'/lwww.icaew.comlenlmembership/regulations-standards-and-guidance.
This report is made solely to the Trustees of Newhaven & Distrirt Model Railway Club in accordance with
our terms of engagement. Our work has been undertaken solely to prepare for your approval the financial
statements of Newhaven & District Model Railway Club and state those matters that we have agreed to
state to the trustees of Newhaven & District Model Railway Club in this report in accordance with ICAEW
Technical Release 07116AAF. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume
responsibility to anyone other than Newhaven & District Model Railway Club and its trustees for our work
or for this report.

Basis of preparing the financlal statements
The financial 5tatement5 of the charitable company, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102,
have been prepared in accordance wtth the Chartties SORP IFRS 1021 'Accounting and Reporting bv
Charitie5-. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS
1021 (effective l January 20191,. Financial Reporting Standard 102 The Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the Companies Act 2OJ6. The financial statements
have beell prepared under the historical cost convention.
The presentation currency of the financial statements is the Pound Sterling (£1.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to
the funds. it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliabty.
Grants
Grants relating to revenue are recognised a5 income in the period in which the related costs are
incurred.
Expenditure
'abilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there Is a legal or constructive obligation
committing the charity to that expenditure, tt is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be
required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured ￿liably. Expenditure is
accounted for on an accruals basis and has been cla55ified under headings that aggregate all cost
related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have
been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
Intsngible assets
Intangible assets are initially measured at COSL After initial recognition, intangible a55ets a
measured at cost less any accumulated amorti5ation and any accumulated impairment losses.
Website costs are being amortised by 25% on reducing balance.
Tangible fixed assets
Depreciatioft is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off eath asset over its
estimated useful life.

25% on reducing balance
Taxatlon
The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities.
Fund accounting
Unrestrirted funds can be used in accordance with the charitsble objertives at the discretion of the
trustees.

Fund accounting
Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity.
Restrirtions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restrirted
purposes.
Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial
statements.
Going concern
The trustees have assessed whether the going concem basis of preparation continues to be
appropriate. based on whether there are any material uncertainties related to events or conditions
that may ¢a5t signiflcant doubt on the ability of the charitable company to continue as a going
concern.
At the time of approving the financial statements the trustees believe that all appropriate measures
have been or will be taken to ensure that the charitable company will be able to continue its
operation5 for at least the next 12 months and thus conclude that the going concern basi5 remains
appropriate.
