the charity as set out in its
governing document|The preservation and protection of good health among people
living with or affected by cancer and their supporters for the
public benefit in particular by:
a) the provision of facilities for exercise and physical activity, in
particular dragon boating and other water sports capable of
promoting physical health and fitness.
b) providing information through seminars, workshops and talks
to raise awareness of and promote the benefits of physical
activity and a healthy lifestyle for cancer survivors;
c) supporting and undertaking research into the benefits of
dragon boating for those affected by cancer and publishing the
useful results for the public benefit;
d) supporting the development of other cancer survivor dragon

accounts.|During the year paddling was suspended because of COVID 19.
Members were given the opportunity to take part in paddle
boarding, canoeing, organised walks - in line with government
guidance in relation to COVID - and to maintain contact via
zoom meetings.
A project to create an ACs (All Cancers Survivor) category
within the British Dragon Boat Association was initiated by a
BWD member and supported by the trustees.
Preliminary discussions took place with Bournemouth University
to development mutually beneficial links between the two
institutions where students would be given the opportunity to
train and volunteer as helms and coaches.
One trustee took up a position as BWD representative within a
community project where the overarching aim is to promote the
health and wellbeing of the community through a variety of
projects.
