LWBC Trustees. Report 2023-2024
December
On the 9th of December 2023 the Club held its End of Year Christmas Party, which
was attended dub members and their familie5. Everyone was updated about the
progress of the teams from Sept to December 2023. There were lots of organised
games, performances, with prizes for winners. Coaches/Team Managers and club
trustees/officials were thanked.
January- April:
During thi5 period. the second half of the National Basketball League INBLI season is
progressing well. The U14 premier and U16 Conference Boys teams progressed well,
Their performance was sound seojring the in thé playoffs.
In Marth the U16s boys team participated in an EYBL league in Macedonia and
Slovakia and won 3 out of 4 games Fxrtting them on the European map.
The U14s got kn¢xked out in the semi-finals. The U16s progressed to winning their
Conference League and secured a win Vs Solent Kestrels for promotion from
Conference to Premier Division. They beat Solent Kestrels and got promoted to the
Premier League.
Unfortunately, none of the other teams managed to reach the playoffs. Nevertheless,
all players actively participated in NBL game5 throughout the season, The season is
set to close in April 2024.
May - June..
On 11 th May, the club scheduled its annual award ceremony, where all players were
recognized and awarded for thLyr contributions throughout the year. From July 29th
to August 23rd. the club plans to collaborate with the London borough of Hounslow
to organize holiday camps lor children on free school meals. This initiative aims to
provide a positive and engaging experience for these children during the summer
break. The club will subsequently dose for a two-week period in August
In May and June, we conducted team trials in preparation for to register teams with
basketball England for 202412025 season. In June we registered teams in all age
groups and genders from U105 and U18s and D3 men. Training session5 were
reduced to once weekly for each team as we are now in our off-season.

London Warriors Basketball Club
July- August
Holiday camps from 29n to 2318 for thildren on universal credit
Once per week onff-season training sessions up to mid-August continues.
Club closed after 2318 to 1 St week in September.
September:
The club intends to actively partiapate in the NBL with teams across various age
groups, from U12 - U18. and D3 men's divisions. The dub alms to represent itself
well and showcase its tslent and commitrnent to the sport
October - December,
The clubs u12s team partiapated in the CBL and U12s -D3 men's partiapatsd in NBL
202312024 season
Finally, in December. the dub plans to hold its AGM, where the trustees will present
reports and discuss the dub's progress. Following the meeting, the club will organize
its Christmas party on the 8th of December, creating a festive and enjoyable
atmosphere for its members.
Overall, the dub anticipates significant athilwements in both league competitions
and international tournaments, while also maintsining its commitrnent to community
engagement and providing opportunities for young players to develop their skills.
The club's trustees remain dedicated to the dub's Suc￿$ and will continue to work
towards furthering its objectives in the upcoming year.

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of the London Warriors Basketball Club** 

I report on the accounts of the Group for the year ended 31st August 2024, which are set out in the Trustees report. 

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** 

The Group’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider that an audit is not required for this year (under Section 144 (2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act)) and that an independent examination is needed. 

It is my responsibility to: 

- examine the accounts (under Section 145 of the 2011 Act); 

- follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under Section 145 (5)(b) of the 2011 Act); and 

- state whether particular matters have come to my attention. 

## **Basis of independent examiner's report** 

My examination was carried out to the best of my ability in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Group and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records.  It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.  The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the next statement. 

## **Independent examiner's statement** 

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 

1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements 

   - to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 130 of the 2011 Act; and 

   - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act 

have not been met; or 

2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
