We at John Paul 11 Polish Saturday School in Liverpool believe that chil¢heAlyoung people have the

The main activities of th¢ organisation areio develop th¢ ¢ultural education of language, where children
meet to learn. play, and discover Polish language, geography, history and traditions. We also ¢urr¢ntly
offer Polish as a second language classes for adults.
Pupils express themselves through learning and build community cohesive projects, raising the
standards of educatio￿ behaviour and etbos in the Deighbourhood. Over the years they have p¢rfornied
at numerous ¢ulNral evenis and festivals a¢ross Merseyside as well as school as5ernblies which
celebrate the Polish traditions, history, and festivals.

On 5 Octob¢r, an ¢v¢nt orgaDis¢d by the Liverpool Supplementary Schools NeNork took place in Liverpool to
¢¢l¢brate the International Day of Languages. Durtng the event, supplementsry heritage language schools op¢rnting
in Liveryool had the opportunity to present themselves by sELowcasing the culture of their countries and the b¢auty of
their native languages. A group of our Year 3 $tt)dent$ represented our school by perforniing the Polonaise dance.

October 2024- Induction ceremony for preschool and Year I pupils.
October 2024- National Education Day. On 19 October, u school assembly was held to celebrate National Education
Day. We were honoured by the presence of distinguishcd gucsts: Consul General Mr treneusz Truszkowski and
Consul Mr Rad051aw Gromski. For th¢ s¢¢ond year iu a row. the school staff. led by Ms Edyts Szczep￿1$k4 prepared
a perforniance for Teacher's Day- this time it was "The Enormous Turnip" by Julian TuwiTn.
ovember 2024- National Independence Day celebrations. As part of thc Ntttional tndependence Day celebrations,
an ass¢mbly took pla¢e on 16 November. It was prepared by teachers (Ms Anna Andryszczyk and Mr Krzysztof Luga)
tog¢th¢r with students from the older classes. We were also visi*d by th¢ Cub Scout group "Wilczki Morskie", who
S8mg, among other songs. "Pnybyli ulani pod oknenko"
December 2024- Chn"stmas ¢arol sitsging and a visit from St NiclLolas.
June 2025- Official end of the 2024125 school year.

March 2025- Two of our finalists, Karolina Wader and Olivier Podsiadlo. took part in the dict&tion during th¢ fmal
of th¢ Inter-school Spelling Competition for the Golden Pen of the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in
Manchester. Karolina Wader won 2nd place in the younger age ￿0up1 Both of our finalists qualified for ihe next-
national- stage of the competition.
May 2025- Organisation of ihe comp¢tition'Yhe Crown and Heritage- l(K)O Yeats of th¢ Kingdom of Poland- as
part of the Polish Heritsge Days celebrations al our school.
11 M8y 2025- Our school took part in the Wierszowtsko- a po¢ty recitation compelition organi5ed by the Polish
Educational Society. Our school was repres¢nt¢d by Mia. Oliver, Lidi4 Gloria. Krystiall and Wikior.
Mia won 3rd place in the 4-6 age group, wbile Oliver r¢¢¢iv¢d a distinction in the 7-9 age group.
21 June 2025- On Saturday. 21 June, th¢ Grand Final (Stage lll) of the Int¢r-School Spelling Compets'tion for the
Golden Pen of the Cotisul Gelleral of the Republic of Poland took pla¢e in Manchester. Karolina Wader won 2nd
place in the younger age group and Olivier Podsiadlo 3rd placc in th¢ older age group.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its accounts for the year in question in accordance with section 476. 

The trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts. 

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

## **1. Accounting Policies** 

## **1.1 Fund accounting** 

Unrestricted funds are those funds which are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity and which have not been designated for other purposes. 

Restricted funds are funds which are to be used in accordance with specific restrictions imposed by donors or which have been raised by the charity for particular purposes. 

## **2. Funds Received as Agent** 

During the financial year, the charity facilitated the collection of funds as part of an international annual fundraising event on behalf of Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy (WOŚP), a well-known Polish charity. 

A total of £14,487.40 was raised and deposited into the charity’s bank account on 27/01/2025 as follows: 

- £11695.00 

- £2626.51 

- £150.89 

- £15 (transfer fee) 

The full amount of £14,487.40 was transferred to WOŚP’s bank account on 31/01/2025. 

As these funds were collected solely on behalf of WOŚP and did not belong to the charity, they have not been included in the Receipts and Payments Statement. The charity acted only as an intermediary in facilitating this donation.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the **John Paul II Polish Saturday School in Liverpool** for the year ended **31 August 2025** . 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in 

connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
