Para 1.17 and 1.19 |
During our second year being a registered charity, our team extremely busy. Despite COVID-19, we continued. There were very few public events, fundraisers and event medical cover events, due to lockdowns and COVID-19 restrictions. With this there was also very little public donations. We continued to develop the new service called “Shop Assist”. This is to help provide assistance to people who are vulnerable, shielding or have special dietary requirements. We worked alongside Wirral Borough Council to provide this service. We also pushed forward with our “Suicide Prevention & Safety Patrols”, training and equipping our volunteers, enabling them to patrol safely in the community providing welfare, support, guidance, medical and suicide intervention out on the streets. These patrols are provided throughout the week, routinely on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Our aim is to have patrols out on the streets 7 days a week. Throughout the year we continued to develop our training and skills. We did this with external training providers as well as E-Learning. Our volunteers were trained in Rescue Emergency Care, Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Prevention and Safeguarding. There are more plans for further training during 2021-2022. |

Para 1.20 |
Rapid Response North West has done a lot between 2020-2021. Our “Shop Assist” shopping service was inundated, especially during each lockdown. We provided this service for many people across Wirral, Cheshire and Merseyside. This service is designed to assist people who are vulnerable, shielding or have special dietary requirements who cannot leave their home to get food supplies they need. Our team also worked hard in the community, out on our “Suicide Prevention & Safety Patrols”. Our team engaged with many people out on the streets, providing support. This was either advice & guidance, medical intervention, suicide intervention or providing emergency food hot/cold drinks & blankets. There are many plans for 2021- 2022. |

Financial Review
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | This year has been a hard year, due to COVID-19 and lockdowns. It has been really hard to fundraise. Our public donations have been really low due to lack of public awareness events, fundraising events and medical cover events. However, we have been really lucky to secure a couple of grants through trusts and other charities. This funding has enabled us to pay for our charity insurance, volunteer expenses (vehicle running costs), safety equipment & personal protective equipment, medical equipment & supplies, and training, allowing our team to work out in the community providing services. Hopefully next year we will have a better year. |
