due to the global pandemic. This meant that
we struggled firstly to get volunteered time to
arrange activities because all of our
volunteers are parents/carers of children
with disability, so rightly they were their
priority. We also struggle to run many
activities in person, due to the long periods
of lockdown and many had to be cancelled.
We had to change our approach and find
different ways to support our families. We
mainly did this by arranging for different care
packages or activities to be posted to
families. In addition to this we also ran a
number of online entertainment and learning
sessions via Zoom.
The impact of this year meant that we didn’t
have the amount of expected expenditure
and there didn’t require grants as
opportunities to spend it were limited.
We raised £40,460 through grants,
fundraising activities and sponsored events.
We also grew the membership of our group
to over 1,400 people, who we support
directly or indirectly. Over all activities that
we arranged, we supported over 1992
people who are children with Autism, their
