Section D                      Achievements and performance

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

With the gradual easing of restrictions, we have been able to resume all various activities in person, while also maintain a Zoom offering for those not able to attend.

This has included worship services, the resumption of our parent and toddler group, and our Bible study groups.

The weekly Community Hub has resumed, offering in addition a warm space (over the cold months) for those vulnerable and supported many in the community. Activities such as the dressmaking and craft clubs have also fully resumed.

We continued to consider the future of Earl Shilton Baptist Church, particularly with relation to what form of paid employee, minister or office holder is appropriate to our needs, charitable purpose, spiritual direction and financial viability. This led us to join the LBC network as detailed above and have intensified our search for a permanent pastor/minister. The LBC links have included supporting a church plant in Pakistan.

## **Section E                    Financial review**

As standard we hold 3 months full running cost in reserves. **Brief statement of the** As noted above we are actively considering ministry options: a process **charity’s policy on reserves** which has gained momentum with the easing of Covid restrictions. Our analysis shows that, barring some sizable change in income, any form of ministry will require an operating loss; we are therefore actively working to raise our reserves to the level required to guarantee an office holder or employee a 3 year contract. This means reserves of £50-80k, depending on the type of post sought. **Details of any funds materially** None **in deficit**

**Further financial review details (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about:

- the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising);

- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity;

- investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.
