**Objects:** (1) TO RELIEVE POVERTY SICKNESS AND DISTRESS AMONGST PEOPLE LIVING IN MAHARASHTRA STATE IN INDIA IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY THE PROVISION OF FUNDS TO ALLEVIATE THE NEED.(2) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROVIDING AND ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR EDUCATION AT MAHER WOMENÆS REFUGE CENTRE IN MAHARASHTRA STATE IN INDIA.

**Activities:** Donations are received from members and supporters, and through  organised events and other individual fundraising efforts in the UK. This allows the charity to make grants as appropriate to Maher to support its work. Public interest in Maher's work is actively promoted by means of printed material, talks to outside groups, displays and presence at events such as craft fairs.
