Grants were made to a hostel based
in Pokhara,
Nepal that takes in
children who are subject to abuse and cruelty and whose families (ifthey
exist) are unable to look after them. The children are provided
with good
quality accommodation,
a safe family environment
and a good education.
The hostel is registered
with the Nepali authorities
and its activities are
overseen
by a committee,
independent
from the hostel workers,
drawn
from local churches.
During the year trustees have had video calls with
the home manager
and shared
information
with medical missionaries
from Switzerland
who co-fund the work.
As a result ofthese grants:
~
Young people who otherwise
would have been at risk have been kept
safe
~
Young people have been freed from cruel and abusive situations.
