FOSDA had a busy and successful year, supporting South Dartmoor Community College with a number of important projects this year including the Ten Tors Challenge, the purchase of Science and Food Tech equipment and the Green Car project. The Young Carers support programme was funded with a grant making a positive difference to these children who have caring responsibilities at home. Money was raised through a variety of different means. The fantastic Ten Tors support group raised funds through sponsorship of their own Ten Tors event. We were successful in raising £3,000 from grants and the Green Car project was made possible by the kindness of a local company. We also engaged in Fundraising through the Easy Fundraising scheme and by the sale of ice pops to students in school.

Objectives and Activities

Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document	Para 1.17	To advance the education of pupils in of South Dartmoor Community College in particular by: 1) Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the College 2) Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the College and advance the education of the pupils.

Para 1.17 and 1.19	The main activities have been fund-raising, providing volunteers for events taking place at schools (e.g. serving refreshments) and community-focussed events.
Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit	Para 1.18	The Trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the Association’s aims and objectives and in planning future activities. FOSDA is a group of parents and staff volunteers. This group raises money for the school to enhance the school experience for all students. FOSDA holds regular committee meeting where staff, parents and others associated with the school are always welcome to participate.
