SORP<br>referenc<br>e<br>Summary of the purposes Para<br>1.17 The  Woolwich  &  Greenwich  Lions  Club<br>of the charity as set out<br>was formed on 16 [th]  Dec 1975 within Distt<br>in its governing<br>document MD105SE in the UK as part of Lions Clubs<br>International  a  voluntary  service<br>organisation with HQ in Illinois, USA. The<br>aim  being  to  help,  support  and  guide<br>local  clubs  to  serve  their  local<br>communities.  Clubs  are  chartered  as<br>separate entities but have links to other<br>clubs in their Zone, to their District in the<br>South  East  of  England,  the  Multiple<br>District  of  the  UK  and  to  Lions  Clubs<br>International.  Linkages with other Lions<br>Clubs  and  the  Lions  Clubs  structures<br>provides  a  vehicle  for  the  exchange  of<br>ideas and through co-operation the clubs<br>work  together  to  help  on  national  and<br>international charitable projects.<br>Club  is  a  voluntary  organisation  which<br>exists to help the local community and<br>support,  as  it  sees  fit,  Lions  Clubs’<br>national and international projects.  The<br>administration  of  the  Club  is  wholly<br>financed  by  its  members.   All  time  to<br>organise  activities  to  raise  funds  and<br>provide community service is given freely<br>by the members and friends of the Lions<br>club, for no payment or reward. These monies, relating to<br>the administration of the club, are held<br>entirely  separately  from  the  charitable<br>and  charity  fund-raising  monies  in  the<br>“Administration"  bank  account. **Camp led by Late Lion Kalsi £1000, Jullunder India orphanage £347 thru Lion Verma, Kanthi Kiran Hostel £200 India thru Lion Yasmine in Hyderabad  India,  Welfare  Childrens Home £200 thru LS Chandra in Delhi, and   GOSH  (Gt  Ormand  St  Hosp, London) £701 thru Lion Verma. These made a significant impact in the  infrastructure  and  the  services provided by them.**

Review of the charity’s financial position at the  Para 1.21 The financial accounts of the Woolwich & Greenwich Lions Club CIO for the year<br>end of the period ended 30th June 2020  are not attached<br>to this report.  Due to non submission to<br>the club. Delay is expected and will be<br>resolved soon with another meeting of<br>trustees when accounts will finally be<br>approved.<br>Statement explaining the Para   Charity operates on the fact that it only<br>1.22<br>policy for holding<br>dispenses  grants / donations within the<br>reserves stating why they<br>are held limit  of  its  funds  at  any  given  time.<br>However the Charity looks to maintain a<br>minimum balance in its reserve account<br>of  £500  notionally,  to  pre  pay  for<br>fundraising  initiatives  and  to  cover  any<br>urgent  needs  or  requests  for  financial<br>grants / donations.<br>**----- End of picture text -----**<br>
