Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.	Para 1.20	In the second financial year of operation, the Soni Scholarship funded the education of nine students. The selected students underwent a thorough interview process and demonstrated drive and motivation to succeed. Donors have been regularly updated on the progress of the students.

Financial review

Financial review
Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period	Para 1.21	The charity has a surplus of cash currently. The funding can support over 15 potential students for the duration of their University studies. The intention is to continue to deploy such funds over the coming financial year while maintaining a reserve cash buffer.
Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held	Para 1.22	All cash proceeds are held in a single pooled account under the legal and beneficial ownership of The Soni Scholarship as cash in bank accruing a rate of interest. When a successful applicant is selected, a subsidiary bank account is set up ring fencing funds to support that child through the duration of their studies.
