FINDING HOPE: DIRECTORS’ REPORT FOR 2020-21

The Trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 05 April 2021.

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the financial statements and comply with the charity's Memorandum and Articles of Association, the Companies Act 2006 and “Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)” (as amended for accounting periods commencing from 1 January 2016)

Objectives and activities

The charity's objects are to prevent and/or relief of poverty of children worldwide, in particular but not exclusively by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need and other organisations working to prevent or relieve childhood poverty, such assistance to be

provided within Christian ethos.

The Trustees have complied with the duty in section 17(5) of the 2011 Charities Act to have due regard to guidance published by the Charity Commission and believe that the objectives and activities of the trust are for the public benefit.

Structure, governance and management

The charity is a company limited by guarantee, incorporated on 7[th] May 2019, and is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association. The accountability for the governance of the charity rests with the Board of Trustees that meets regularly to monitor the activities of the charity, develop policy and plans and take operational decisions.

New Trustees with suitable gifts and experience are appointed at the discretion of the existing Trustees. Appropriate induction and training procedures are followed. None of the Trustees have any beneficial interest in the company. All of the Trustees are members of the company and guarantee to contribute up to £1 in the event of a winding up.

The Trustees, who are also the directors for the purpose of company law, and who served during the year and up to the date of signature of the financial statements were:

Statement of Trustees' responsibilities

The Trustees, who are also the directors of FINDING HOPE for the purpose of company law, are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).

Company Law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year that give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and

expenditure, of the charitable company for that year.

In preparing these financial statements, the Trustees are required to:

The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Activities during 2020/2021

Review of marketing activities

Financial review

Total incoming resources were £0 with expenditure of £0 giving a net inflow of resources of £0. During the year the charity received an unrestricted legacy of £0 and longstanding debts of £0 were written off. Net assets remain at £0 presently.

Reserves Policy

The Board of Trustees has established a policy whereby free reserves held by the charity should be maintained at a minimum of £0.

Risk Management

The Board of Trustees maintains a plan to address the risks to which a small charity operating with no or few employees is exposed. Appropriate procedures are in place to identify, monitor and review these risks on a regular basis.
