OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The objectives of The Pipeline Trust 1.the ChariVI, as specified in its governing document, are to
advance such charitable purposes (according to the law of England and Wales) as the trustees see fit
from time to time.
The activities undertaken by the Trustees to satisfy these objectives comprise the awarding of grants
to organisations Iprimarily other charities and voluntary bodies) and individuals throughout England
and Wales tor the general public benefrt.
The Trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance
published by the Charity Commission on public benefit when reviewing the Chariws aims and
objectives, in planning future activities and in setting the grant making policy for the period.

ACHIEVEMENTSAND PEFORMANCE
The Charity has been able to support a number of different charttable causes, with the main themes
being: the health and wellbeing of young people, the support of people wtth disabilities and illnesses,
as well as research into medical developments. especially relating to Type l Diabetes. The Trustees,
hope is that even relatively small amounts of money can make a big difference when applied to the
right charitable organisation. These grants have been very gratefully recerved.
Further details regarding the grants awarded in the period are set out in Note 2 to the accounts.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
During the year the Charity received donations totalling £25.OLKJ12021- £37.6551, including £25,OLKJ
{2021: £22,853) representing part of a series of regular annual donation from The Newcombe Estates
Company Limited. the amount of which depend on the Compan￿5 profitability.
The Newcombe Estate5 Company Limtted is a private limited company in which the Trustees are all
shareholders and Mr R.W. Newcombe and Mrs A.C. Houghton are directors.
The funds received in the year were added to cash reseryes brought forward of £4.17612021: £9,121)
and a total of £27,00012021= £42,600) was distributed by way of grants to charitable organisations
providing educational, religious. heatth and social care seNices at either a local, national or
international level.
No funds were spent on support costs in the year or in the previous year.
ReseNes poIIcy
The Trustees expect that the Charity will have few overheads and, therefore, will have a limited
requirement for reserves. Their objective will be to identifv organisation5 Worthy of support so that
the Charitrfs income is distributed on an annual basis and cash reserves will be retained at a level that
they consider appropriate to meet any liabilities as they fall due and to enable the Charity to respond
in a timely fashion to urgent appeals from deserving causes.
Cash reserves at the 31 December 2022 amounted to £2,17612021.. £4,176).
STRucfuRE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Charity is governed by a constitution dated 3 May 2019 and it was registered as a Charitable
Incorporated Organisation with the Chartty Commission on that same day.
The members of the Charity are its trustees. who are the only persons eligible for membership. and
their mernbership will automatically end when they cease to be a trustee.
The initial trustees were appointed for their lifetime and they may appoint additional trustees, at a
duly convened meetin& for terms at their absolute discretion.

In selecting indiwduals for appointment as trustees. regard will be grven to the skills, knowledge and
experience needed for the effertive management of the Charity.
New trustees will be briefed on their legal obligations under charity law, the content of the
constitution. the decision making processes and the recent financial perfomiance of the Charity. All
trustees will be encouraged to attend appropriate external training events where these will facilitate
the undertaking of their role.

I report to the charity trustee5 on my examination of the accounts of the charrty for the year to 31
December 2022 which are set out on pages 5 to 6.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charit￿5 trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with
the requirements of the Charities Att 20111'the ACVI.
I report in respect of my examination of the charl￿S accounts carried out under section 145 of the
Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the
Charity Commission under section 14515llbl of the Art.

I have completed my examination. I confimi that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect..
