The year 2021/22 has been one where the Isle of Wight Island Games Association Charity has been able to move out of the period of the global pandemic (when all activities of the charity had ceased) to one where we are beginning to build towards the 2023 International Island Games in Guernsey.
The Trustees have been seeking sponsorship opportunities with local businesses and organisations which will enable the representative team from the Island to attend the games at the lowest possible cost. Several agreements have been reached to provide items at zero cost to the charity including team uniform and cross Solent travel. We have also received a cash donation from the IW Council Leaders charitable fund to cover the cost of the registration of competitors at the games.
Expenditure in the last year included the cost for the Chair of Trustees and the Secretary to visit Guernsey for the International Island Games Association AGM where they were able to visit sporting venues and potential accommodation sites for use by the team during next year’s games. This visit is an essential part of the function of the Charity in its core purpose of enabling a representative team to attend the International Island Games sporting event.
In the forthcoming year further donations are anticipated including charitable receipts and gift aid from a fundraiser who completed the London Marathon in aid of the charity.
Looking forward to 2023 the Charity will be enabling a team of over 200 people to attend the games in Guernsey.

Income received grant from IW Council Charitable donation for use towards Guernsey 2023 Games registrations and Bank Interest.
Expenditure: Guernsey items are for Annual International Island Games Association (IIGA) AGM and games pre visit to Guernsey by Chair of Trustees and Secretary. Subscription is membership of the IIGA. Gift was to recognise contribution to the Charity of the former IWIGA Secretary who passed away in this year.
