Trustees Annual Report Year Ending 31/10/2021
The charity year 2020 to 2021 was affected dramatically by the global Covid-19 pandemic. Firstly the NatWest International Island Games in Guernsey, our primary goal for this year, were cancelled and the restrictions on public life meant that there were no opportunities to engage in any of our usual fundraising activities.
The Trustees continued to meet regularly (mainly via ‘Zoom’) to consider the future activities of the association and to consider appropriate actions with the limited amount of sport that was possible during the year. Ultimately this became a year for planning rather than fundraising.
The Trustees are now looking forward to the rescheduled Guernsey games due to be held in the summer of 2023 and will be undertaking and coordinating fundraising activities in years 2021/2 and 2022/23 to enable a team from the Isle of Wight to attend those games.
The Trustees have maintained contact with key sponsors and suppliers for the team and have received positive assurances of future support for ‘TeamIOW’ as we go forward to the Guernsey Games and beyond.
Accordingly the charity accounts show little change from the previous year with only bank interest as income and annual subscription/insurance and meeting charges as outgoings.
The Trustees consider that we are in a good place to meet the aims and objectives of the association. As at the date of this report the trustees of the charity are shown on the attached appendix. This annual report has been approved by the trustees.
