## **REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES** 

## **Current Trustees:**

## **Financial Review:** 

Income for the Period 1-1-22 – 31-12-22: £450 Expenses for the Period 1-1-22 – 31-12-22: £60 

## **Achievements & Performance:** 

Since the last report, we are pleased to inform you that all our churches have seen a significant boost in attendance as congregants have returned to their respective churches following the pandemic. 

Our first major event of the year was the Rotherhithe conference held in April. The conference featured distinguished speakers such as Pastor Richard Rubi and local UK pastors, and was concluded with several relevant and exciting announcements. 

The UK Pastors seminars held in 12[th] – 14[th] May saw an attendance of over 90 ministerial couples with missionaries tuning in on livestream. The theme was Ministers Aflame and the seminars where a great opportunity for ministers to reconnect, refresh, and receive blessings. 

We held leadership tables and rallies across nine different locations, including Digbeth, Waltham Forest, Bristol, Northampton, Croydon, Rotherhithe, Sheffield, Bury St Edmunds, and Harrow, where Pastor Nigel Brown and Pastor Fred Rubi ministered except in Croydon, where Pastor Success Adeshida (the pastor of Croydon church) replaced Pastor Nigel Brown due to illness. 

Our churches in Croydon and Norwich both hosted their annual Harvesters Homecoming in June and July respectively. Their on field pastors and churches were able to attend, and the outcome was a great sense of blessing and purpose. 

Our final major event of the year was The Waltham Forest Conference held on 10[th] – 14[th] October which featured Pastors Greg Mitchell and Scott Lamb as the main speakers. The theme of this year's conference was Christian Radicals and with over 1000 attendees per night, the building was filled to capacity. The conference concluded with exciting announcements of new missionaries and local churches planted, as well as some ministerial changes.

Going into **Chelmsford** from the Waltham Forest congregation – Michael & Princess Murphy 

Going into **Lincoln** from Wembley Congregation – Nathan & Azariah Henry 

Going into **Orpington, Kent** from the Bromley congregation – Michael & Mo Edwards 

Taking over as Pastors of the Leeds Church (originally from Waltham Forest) now in Gravesend – Eric & Shelomi Mumba. 

Taking over as Pastors of the Kilburn Church from the Waltham Forest congregation – Tashan & Ola Alexander

Taking over as Pastors of the Bounds Green Church, from the Waltham Forest congregation – Tristan & Ruby Avelino 

Taking over as Pastors of the Swansea Church, from the Northampton congregation – Deon & Lucie Kellerman 

Taking over as Pastors of the Southend Church, from the Waltham Forest Congregation – David & Louise Kennedy 

Taking over as Pastors of the Milton Keynes Church (Originally from Northampton) now in Bedford – Michael & Una Belnavis 

Taking over as Pastors of the Gravesend Church, from the Waltham Forest congregation – Ian & Patricia Wainaina. 

Coming on staff as Full Time Youth Pastor, from Hemel Hempstead – Carmel & Anna Mbwese 

Taking over as Pastors of the Hemel Hempstead Church from the Waltham Forest congregation – Dean & Donna Adams 

Leaving High Wycombe and Originally from Croydon, Going into Horsham – Femi & Kemi Alebiosu 

Unfortunately, we must also report the passing of Pastor Mervyn Labrosse in January 2022. His funeral was held at the Waltham Forest church, and his family, including wife Charlene and their two children, have relocated to East London and are back in the Waltham Forest congregation; their home church. 

During the Executive meeting held on 15th August 2022, the attendees were informed that, as of 18th November 2021, Pastor Paul Boddy had resigned as a trustee. Subsequently, the Executives unanimously approved the appointment of Pastor Chiso Nwokoro and Pastor Alan Taylor as new trustees. The decision to approve the new trustees was made after careful consideration of their skills, knowledge, and experience, which the Executives felt would contribute significantly to the effective administration of the charity. 

Chairman, Pastor Nigel Brown, was tasked with informing Pastors Taylor and Nwokoro of their appointment as new trustees and would also ensure that the necessary protocols are followed to inform Charities Commission of the new appointments. The Pastors Executive expresses its gratitude to Pastor Paul Boddy for his service and contributions as a former trustee, and we look forward to working with our newly appointed trustees to continue the vital work of the charity.

## **STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES' RESPONSIBILITIES** 

The law applicable to charities in England and Wales, the Charities Act 2011, Charity (Accounts and Reports) 

Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charity for that period. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to 

- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; 

- observe the methods and principles in the Charity SORP; 

- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; 

- state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; 

- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business. 

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

## **NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT** 

## **ACCOUNTING POLICIES** 

## **Basis of preparing the financial statements** 

The financial statements of the charity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Charities Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. 

## **Income** 

All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the funds, it is probable that the income will be received, and the amount can be measured reliably. 

## **Expenditure** 

Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings, they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. 

Grants offered subject to conditions which have not been met at the year-end date are noted as a commitment but not accrued as expenditure.

As described in the trustees’ report that the trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements for the period ended 31[st] December 2022 set out on page 2.
