A¢hi¢vements and performance
The Foundation For Heallhcare{TFFH) was registered with the charity commission on 1st May 2019. It
held its introductory dinner on 22nd June 2019 in London. TFFH was introduced to the attendees of
the event exptaining Ihern the purpose and vision of the charity. There were more than 70 people al
the event. Mr. Saeed Alawala gave the welcome address. Dr. Saad Khalhl Niaz shared facts and
figures regarding Hepatib"s BIC and how The Healih Foundation is working tirelessly to ￿hleve ils
goals in Pakistan. The Chief Guest HE HC Mr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria made a generous offer
during his speech, for TFFH to host tts next event at the Embassy Professor Graham Foster was one
of the speakers 81 the event. He shared Ihat TFFH shouki be Optimist￿ regarding funding
opportunities for Hepatttis BIC pmjects in Pakistan. Mr. Zafar Sulian gave the vote of thanks arKI had
invited a local radio station reporter for an interview with Mr. Saeed Allawala and Dr. Saad Niaz.
Leafiels wlh awareness messages regarding Hepatitis B and C were distributed to the guests.
TFFH introduced itself through emails. WhatsApp groups and other social media platfomis including
Facebook, Linkedln e.t.c to a number of ￿Ople in the UK
TFFH held ils second event al the Pakistan Embassy in London. HE Mr. Nafees Zakaria hosted TFFH
on 21 February 2020. The purpose of the event was to creale awareness about the prevalence of
Hepatitis B and C in Pakistan and get the British Pakistanis inVo￿ed to support the cause of its
eliminalion. A large number of heahh professionals, philanthropists. memkrs of the civil society and
media person5 attended the event. In his welcome ￿Marks. High Commissioner Mohamrnad Nafees
Zakaria appreciated the good work of TFFH and termed it a noble cause. He emphasized the
importance of supporting the cause of eradicating Hepab'tis B and C from Pakistan. Mi Zakaria called
upon the British Pakistanis to ￿aY their role and contribute towards TFFH'S efforts to eliminate the
viral disease from the Country. He also commended the role of Ihe pharma￿￿tiCal sector of Pakistan
in significantly bringing down the prices of the vacLination and related medicines.
Dr Saad Khalié Niaz. Trustee of TFFH and founder member gave a presentation explaining the
magniiude of Ihe problem. He apprised that TFFH Is working towards eradicating the disease through
raising awareness, doing catch up Hepab"tis B vacrynaljons, screening people for Hepatitis BIC and
I￿aling patients. So far. The Health FoundatDn has given awareness through direct communication lo
about 1000,000 ￿ople, provided Hepatslis B vacanalion to 430,000 people and given treatment to
more than 12.000 patients.
Mr se￿ Alawala. Chairman and founding meMt￿l af TFFH and DT Abdullah Hoodbhoy. Trustee of
the UK Chapter urged the Pakistani diaswra to Ixime foThward and support the cause through their
generous donations.
The speakers thanked High CommissK)ner for providing TFFH a platlomi to intrcKluce ils cause to
the Pakistani diaspora.
The Government of Pakistan has taken an inth"ative to s(%le up provincial Hepalrtis elimination
programs and one of the Directors of TFFH. Dr. Huma Qure5hi has been appointed as the focal
person for Hepalitl5.
Majority of fundraising by TFFH Wds done after the second event through a social Tnedia Zakat
campaign. WhatsApp groups and messaging were the major souice Df menue generats.on along with
emails lo event attendees and contacts developed throughout the year.
TFFH reiEived a tlonabon from UK Medical Aid lo Paki8tan IUK MAP) to support vaccination of 1000
babies bom to Hepatitis B positive mothers and treatment of Hepatitis C palients. These funds were
transferred to TFFH in Pakistan for the execution of the same, in March 2019.

Plans for future perlods

fundraising strategy for TFFH. TFFH will now be exploring online fund￿sIng ptatfomis to achieve its
ftjndraising objective5. Due to Covid-19, holdir•J fundrai8iThJ lurthTrrts may not be very producbve due
to poor attendance. However, TFFH wll •xwci58 all Olher m8ar6 as ￿allets, fyer5, &mals,
online platforms etc lo raise funds in the ￿m￿l9 year. TFFH will try lo engage l attract a few
volunteers lo carry out lundrai51ng work In th8 field and via ￿lITre rdatfcffts. Though Ihe ￿rning year
looks dthcult for lundiai5ing. Iwu5tees are confvjent they cmbnue io rdise lunds more than in
eviou5 years.
