**Objects:** THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION IN MATHEMATICS FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THROUGH THE PROVISION OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR MATHEMATICS TEACHERS AND TEACHER EDUCATORS IN AFRICA, BY INTRODUCING THEM TO EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS AND MATERIALS AND SUPPORTING THEM IN DISSEMINATING THIS METHODOLOGY WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITIES.

**Activities:** METEA organises and supports training courses for mathematics teachers and teacher educators in Africa. In particular, METEA supports training courses that introduce effective teaching and learning methods and materials, and those that support educators to disseminate these within their communities. METEA supports the creation of resources that are freely available.
