Achievement and Performance:
The year has indeed a year of enormous challenge for the whole world due to the challenging post pandemic economic crisis faced by families, which is even worse with families from the ethnic minority communities especially the Africa ethnic minority background. This s made worse because a lot of them did not have access to mainstream benefit support systems, instead they must rely on the meagre support they can get from there faith groups and community associations.
Bolton CDP was able to work with partner community associations and faith groups to develop projects that was designed to help reach out to members of the ethnic minority groups to them build towards post pandemic and most of all give them hope.

Youth Training Program
This project is aimed at the need for new migrants coming into Bolton and greater Manchester, to learn new skills, to build their confidence and enable them to integrate into their new community. This project has been crucial during the pandemic because so many members of the community lost their jobs and some of them needed to learn new skills for them to get jobs that would enable them work from home so that they can be able to provide for their families.
Some of the projects done under the Skill for Life are:
- Gambling awareness Project:
It has been an exciting time during the training’s sessions with young people across Bolton and Manchester. It was an opportunity to talk about the factors leading young people to gambling, how it has affected members of the African community in greater Manchester and how to access support. There was opportunity for role plays. It was exciting. The participants enjoyed the sessions and look forward to more sessions.
Bolton CDP is grateful for the National Lottery for the support provided.
