Value of the Minibus
~ A review of twenty-five 2019/20 Peugeot Boxer minibuses with similar mileage ( 30,000 miles) being sold commercially shows prices between £20,000 and £24,000. I have therefore kept the value of the RWMT minibus at £19,000 in view of the fact that we are unlikely to get a commercial price, because it may need the access ramp fitted before sale, and because of its unique paint scheme.

Due to very low numbers of passengers, and insufficient numbers of volunteers to drive and manage the minibus maintenance, it was agreed the RWMT charity should, with regret, be wound up. The trustees unanimously adopted the following Resolution at a meeting on 19 November 2025:
“It is resolved to close the Richard Wellesley Memorial Transport Group in accordance with its constitution. All efforts will be made to care for its existing small number of regular passengers and to disperse its assets as far as possible in line with its charitable objectives, namely:
To provide transport facilities in the villages of Hinton Waldrist, Longworth, Buckland and Littleworth for persons who have special need of such facilities by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial or other disadvantage or those living in isolated areas where there are no adequate or safe public transport facilities.”
Since then, with the help of Oxfordshire County Council, the RWMT has passed on the S22 routes and existing passengers to be absorbed within revised routes of the First and Last Mile CIC (company number 13032300), with an initial grant of £15,000 from RWMT.
Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding has been agreed between RWMT and the Buckland Memorial Hall (charity number 1161514) to donate the minibus (valued at £19,000) along with a financial grant to the Memorial Hall for use as a community asset. The Hall has amended its constitution to specifically allow this.
An application to close the RWMT charity was submitted to the Charity Commission on 17 June 2026. One this has been agreed, final donations will be made to First and Last Mile and the Buckland Memorial Hall to use up the remaining RWMT funds. The RWMT bank account will then be closed and a final set of accounts submitted.
