1. Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.
In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.

**Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document**
1. To relieve financial hardship, distress and suffering among poor people, widows and other people in need by means of, but not exclusively making grants or loans for providing or paying for items, equipment, services and facilities, including the provision of food, water and clothing, costs for medical treatment and costs for attending school for the benefit of the mentioned people. 2. To advance the religion of Islam, by means of, but not exclusively, promoting the teachings and tenets of Islam via the assistance in the provision of facilities for Islamic education and worship in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah of the prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as interpreted by the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaah School of thought.

Charity commission requires the trustees of a charity to:

•

prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis
unless there is a reason to believe that the Association will not
continue for the foreseeable future.
The Trustees are responsible for the keeping of proper accounting
records, which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the
financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the
financial statements comply with the Charity Act 2011. They are also
responsible for safeguarding the assets of the association and hence to
take reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other
irregularities.|

**Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
