## **Friends of British Southern Cameroons Annual Report 2023-2024** Friend of British Southern Cameroons is a charity set up primarily to assist the victims of the Southern Cameroons genocide who have been internally displaced or seeking refuge in other countries, such as Nigeria. This was achieved first by finding a suitable and accessible location which would allow us to turn our idea into reality. We then employed the services of local carpenters to handcraft tables, benches and bookshelves and finally incorporated the shipped books that had been donated from our fellow UK schools This was a very challenging year for meeting our fundraising potential due to bereavement, which heavily impacted our regular fundraising activities. However, we continued raising awareness of the Southern Cameroons genocide and advocacy through our established social media platforms. This involved an outreach for education and sensitisation in local schools and churches. Social media was used to raise the profile of the humanitarian crisis and facilitated our fundraising events, like our 1[st] October Sponsored Walk. We extend our thanks to all family and friends who supported and sponsored us. Our charity strives to continue carrying out outreaches to the refugees in Nigeria and the Internally Displaced People and children in Community schools in Southern Cameroons. These included supplying educational resources for children in all refugee camps and sustainability projects to empower the women, the disabled and the youth.
