## **- Friends of British Southern Cameroons Annual Report 2020 2021** Friend of British Southern Cameroons is a charity set up primarily to assist the victims of the Southern Cameroons genocide who have been internally displaced or seeking refuge in other countries such as Nigeria. We carry out general charitable purposes, seek to prevent and relieve poverty among this vulnerable group and advocate for their Human Rights. It is also worth stating that the COVD-19 pandemic has had an adverse effect on our charity, particularly more so as we are a small charity that was just been set up. 31/03/2021|1068.24|948|**1350**|729| During this year, we have continued raising awareness of the Southern Cameroons genocide and advocacy through our established social media platforms. This involved outreach to the Members of Parliament and as well as talks in a local school and churches. Social media was used to raise the profile of the humanitarian crisis and enabled us to carry out 2 main fundraising events which were a Sponsored Walk and a Sanitary Towels Fund drive as well as income from direct debit contributions. These much-needed finances raised were then used to support and empower the Southern Cameroons refugees in Adagom 1 settlement in Nigeria through the self-sustaining Konja Good Life Initiative, Christmas food money, Sanitary Towels, and underwear distributions. We provided financial support for the lifesaving surgery of baby Elizabeth in Southern Cameroons. We also shipped generous donations of Sanitary towels and books to the internally displaced people in Southern Cameroons.
