Activities
We are community based, operating as an umbrella organisation for local initiatives. Run by a board of volunteer trustees, who oversee a variety of projects run by individual groups.HCO tries to serve the interests of the community by helping to provide recreational and leisure time activities, improving the environment, enabling social events, and creating opportunities for residents.
Objects: (A) To Promote For The Benefit Of The Inhabitants Of Hassocks And The Surrounding Area (The 'Area Of Benefit') The Provision Of Facilities For Recreation Or Other Leisure Time Occupation Of Individuals Who Have Need Of Such Facilities By Reason Of Their Youth, Age, Infirmity Or Disablement, Financial Hardship Or Social And Economic Circumstances Or For The Public At Large In The Interests Of Social Welfare And With The Object Of Improving The Condition Of Life Of The Said Inhabitants;(b) To Promote For The Benefit Of The Public, The Conservation, Protection And Improvement Of The Physical And Natural Environment In Particular By Advancing The Education Of The Public In The Conservation, Protection And Improvement Of The Physical And Natural Environment; And(c) To Advance The Education Principally Of The Inhabitants Of The Area Of Benefit In Particular By The Provision Of Vocational And Skills Training And Work Experience And By The Preservation, Protection, Development And Improvement Of Features Of Historic Or Public Interest In The Area Of Benefit.
