Our chaiity Y￿rk￿d schools in each of the fN8 wards in Barrow in
Fumess that fall within the 10% most deprived areas in England. We
regularty work V•ilh 25 primary s(*￿1$. 6 secondary schools and 2
olleggs.
By deliv8ring thè Barrow Englne8riThJ Proléct W8 provld8d funding for 11
primary Schoo￿ and 6 secondary schools to participate in Tomorrow.
Er￿Jlr￿rS W88k and British saen￿ W68k.
Approxlmat8ly 900 sécondary age puplls and 500 prlmary ag8 pupils took
part in our Build My Skills project. developing their awareness of career
opportunitl8s and th8 skills and attributes réquired for success. To ensure
access for all. the programme was adapted Into a dlgltal fomal and
extended to pibt KS1 and KS3 units.
10 primary schools took part in our Happy & Healthy Lrfestyles Project
vthich, this year, created and published a book cov￿-19 The Volce ol
Our Children. The book ￿lIat￿￿ the experien¢os of primary aged puplls
during the Covld-19 Pandemic and the str81egies the children and their
families used, leamed. and devebped to help them through that tlm6 of
crisis. A copy of th8 book vms gifted to all schools in the ar8a, as a
resource for mental health support work. It will be a positive local18g8Cy
r8sourc8, archived by th8 main Library in the area.
Holiday Clubs wore provided for childr8n from hlgh deprivab'on wards.
The Clubs focused on rfr8ngaging thildren In learning, helplng them to
increase self C￿nfidence and strengthen skills such as teamwork,
communication. s8lf-management and resilience. The clubs were free
and took place on severdl siies. during each holiday period.
