During this period the country was just coming out of lockdown and things were not quite back to the norm, we found many of the usual events that we hwlped at were not running, indeed we did not hold out annual July show. We are a small group of Lions who have worked and fundraised to give back to our local community. We offer our services to help out other charities and at local events that maybe short of personal by helping to man stalls, marshal races, marshal carnivals and by holding events. The lions have assisted with beach cleaning at Seaton where we joined with local residents to tidy our beach. We have helped to man stalls at Beer regatta Funday, the Colyford goose Fayre and Axmouth village show. We fundraise for ourselves by holding a bookstall where we do not charge but ask for donations thereby people can give what they can afford, these monies enable us to be able to offer funds to local community persons, groups, international disasters and national charities such as Force. We have built our own Christmas float which we take around the communities of Seaton, Beer, Colyford, Colyton and Axmouth. This is our main fundraiser of the year and our most challenging, due to inclement weather and a very willing if elderly team.
