**Bolton Hindu Forum – Trustees’ Annual Report 2024– 2025** 

## **1. Introduction** 

The Trustees of Bolton Hindu Forum (BHF) present the Annual Report for the year 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025. BHF continues to provide cultural, educational, and wellbeing services supporting individuals and families across Bolton and the wider North-West. All activities this year were aligned with the charity’s objectives and delivered clear public benefit. 

## **2. Charitable Activities and Public Benefit** 

## **Funeral Support Project** 

- Ensured families received culturally appropriate bereavement support. 

- Preserved religious tradition and dignity for the deceased. 

- Reduced emotional and practical stress for grieving families. 

- Strengthened community solidarity through compassionate service. 

## **Royal Bolton Hospital Temple / Prayer Room** 

- Provided a peaceful environment for spiritual reflection for patients, staff, and families. 

- Supported mental wellbeing through meditation and prayer. 

- Strengthened chaplaincy engagement and cultural representation. 

## **Interfaith & Community Partnerships** 

- Promoted mutual understanding between diverse communities. 

- Encouraged cooperation, shared learning, and civic participation. 

- Strengthened social cohesion across Bolton. 

## **School Visits & Educational Outreach** 

- Enhanced cultural literacy among young people. 

- Supported the curriculum for RE and diversity learning. 

- Helped children understand Hindu values, festivals, and traditions.

- Promoted Diwali celebrations across the region.

## **5. Public Benefit Statement** 

All activities delivered by BHF in 2024–2025 provided measurable public benefit, including supporting emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing, promoting cultural understanding, reducing loneliness, strengthening interfaith relationships, and offering accessible community events. These outcomes align with the Charity Commission’s public benefit requirements. 

## **6. Plans for 2025–2026** 

- Expand wellbeing and empowerment programmes. 

- Strengthen youth leadership and cultural education. 

- Grow interfaith partnerships and civic engagement. 

- Develop BHF Radio’s DAB presence. 

- Enhance volunteer development and support. 

- Deliver larger, more inclusive cultural events.
