Summary of the maln a¢tivitsos undertaken for the public benefit The Tom Henson Charity exists to help provK4e local publicly ac£essible defilI1a1orS for communities to us8 in event of a SLMJden cardiac arrest. When a person suffers a sudden cardiac arresl, the time in which defibrillation is given is critically important. The chances of a patient surviving a sudden cardiac arrest when not in hospital diminish by approximately 10% a minute. Arnbulan response times to such events are expected to b8 in the region of 8 minutes (at a national lev81}. That is why it is important to have local pthlic ac£ess def)rillators.
The Tom Henson Charity Summary of the main achievements during the period It was quite a busy year in terms of installations, with 5 defibs being sited, induding a first for us in getting on8 Sited on a buildirKJ site. Vthen the buildiro work is finished, the developer will move it to their next development. A resident very kindly requested one for their house on a new siie, rnaking bNO ncpH that are on private fy)mes. W6 managed to ajopt a defib for which there were no records of ownership due to bereavement and we also adopted a further 8 from a local parish council that had been installed by a well known first aid company some years ago. Many thanks to all the individuals and grwps that have helped with all these. We had a successful bake sale at the local beer festival, so our sincere thanks go to the festival organisers for very kindly invrting us to be there and we are extremely grateful to those who donated the cakes and all who donated moneylpurchased cakes. We also ran a raffl8 at this time which raised an impressive £14551 Huge thanks to all who bought tickets and to all the indivKluals and businesses that gen8rously donated items as pnzes. We had another first for us when we were lucky enough to be able to buy pl8ces to have a number of runners take part in the Great North Run in September. The amazing runners did so well, raising over £3CQO in sponsorship We can't thank them enough for the hard work they put in to train and complete the event and for all the money they raised and similarly, to all those extremely generous sponsors too, thank you all so much. As 8 result of all the help, support and generosty of so many, we hav8 now baen involved in putting aryj maintaining 46 defibrillators in all sorts of sites since we started in 2018. Thank you to you alll Flnanclal revlew We are happy with the financial position the tharity is in at the &nd of this reporting penod. The charity's policy on reserves Due to the finite lrfespan of a defibri[Or and ils consumables, the charity aims to steadily build reserves to provide sufficient funds in the charty accounts to enable replacement of Ihese items when needed. Thanks We yuld like to thank all who have contributed to the charity, both financially and in so many other ways (donations of prizes, cakes, volunteering, etc). We are incredibly grateful to have had such tremerwjous support. Signed cn behaff of the tharity's trustees: Signed Nicola O'Halloran. Trustee Date /7
