Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit
The Tom Henson Charity exists to help provide local publicly accessible defibrillators for communities to use in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.
When a person suffers a sudden cardiac arrest, the time in which defibrillation is given is critically important. The chances of a patient surviving a sudden cardiac arrest when not in hospital diminish by approximately 10% a minute. Ambulance response times to such events are expected to be in the region of 8 minutes (at a national level). That is why it is important to have local public access defibrillators.

The Tom Henson Charity Summary of the main achievements during the period Ihilst not as bad as ttE previous year. the or@oing parKlemic has LY>ntinued to impact the tharty during 2021-2022. Thankfijlly several posrtive things did happen though. We managed to have a couple of very well suprted bake sales. with some particularly SussFul cake raffles too and we are extremety gratefvl to those who donated the cakes and all who donated money. We were privileged to be the beneficiaries of fvnds raised from tid(et sales for a production by the local drama grp, so big thanks to them for that. This was originally due to happen in 2020 but was delayed by the pandemio We were also lud(y in our application to the National Lottery Fund for a small grant which would enable us to purcha* training equipment and we are pleased to now be able to offer training as required, aThJ we are looking forward to the opportunity to demonstrate this (where possible) at our fundraisiThJ events this year. We managed to site five defibrillators with cabinets in various public areas and donate one defibrillator to a local Communty First ReSpder group. At the time of wrtting we have an installation occurrirKJ in the very near future and another being negotiated. Financial review Given the drficult year that is has been. we are happy with the financial position the charity is in at the end of this reporting period. The charitys pollcy on reserves Due to the finite lrfespan of a defibrillator and it's consumables. the charty aims to steadily build reserves to provide sufficient funds in the charty accounts to enable repla[nent of these items when needed. Thanks We would like to thank all who have ntributed to the charty, both financially and in so many other ways (donations of prizes, cakes, volunteering, etc). We are incredibly grateful to have had such tremendous supporL Signed behalf of the chariVs trustees: Signed Nicola O'HalForan, Trustee Date l 7-10-2021
