.Advance the education of the general public in the appreciation and understanding of music and its history; with special emphasis on Jazz and Popular Music

OBJECTIVES AND AIMS

Isikoza is committed to enabling people from diverse backgrounds access to ‘inspiring and practical’ educational training in the fields of jazz and popular music. The charity aims to achieve this by:

 Designing and implementing creative music modules for adults who desire greater comprehension and understanding in jazz theory and improvisation

 Provision of music workshops for instruments greatly utilised in Popular Music (Electric Bass, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Drums, & Electric Piano)

 Programming of educational performances (recitals) in Churches, Community Centres

& Open Spaces

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE

In the financial period April 2024 to April 2025 we have:

Consultant for Easter Service in Elderly Home

Our Trustee, Mr Roberts was contacted by the care home to assist with programming a special Easter Service for their residents. . The consultations in question, revolved around how to provide the correct backline equipment (amplifiers, electric bass, drums, keyboards, laptops and microphone’s) plus religious hymns, for the occasion.

The consultations proved to be highly successful, resulting in a tremendous Easter Sunday Christian Service for residents and visitors.

Consultant for Book Launch

Once again our Trustee Mr Roberts was asked for expert advice on ‘technical specifications’, to assist with a ‘Posthumous Book Launch’. The launch would be filmed live, and available for viewing to family members in oversea territories, and nationally. Although there was a lot of pressure because of the significance of the occasion; our trustee’s expertise and experience, ensured the event was a resounding success.

Conducted Several Viewings of Commercial Premises

Our board decided to look at commercial premises alongside the possibility of community asset transfers. To this end we looked at several pubs, and a restaurant. Although the restaurant was in the best condition, we felt that the location was not suitable to fulfil our charitable objectives. One of the pub’s was in an ideal location was ideal for our charity, however the condition of the building, and costs needed to renovate, were decisive factors not to proceed further with an expression of interest.

FUTURE

All of the above projects were again delivered with the charity receiving no financial remunerations .To address this urgent matter we will seek advice from organisation’s who have received funding, and experienced with applications for grants.
