March **2012** **TAR** 3 Section D Achievements and performance **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** We have made a number of applications for grant funding, and have been able to support our objects with some grant money. We have also received donations from local people and organisations. The trustees have met this year, to consider policies, make decisions and agree the accounts and annual report. We have established a written agreement with a local sailing club regarding the use of their facilities and equipment. We have met with harbour stakeholders to introduce our charity and to ask for their support (Harbour Master, local sailing club, slipway users). We have held a meeting with the RYA Regional Development Officer to take advice on preparing for accreditation. We have continued to update our policies and operating procedures to ensure that our training meets RYA standards, and that members of the community who access our facilities can do so safely and confidently. We have funded more training so that our sail training can be delivered to a standard commensurate with RYA accreditation, including safe instruction and on-water safety cover. We have held further meetings with a local sailing club regarding use of facilities and changes that need to be made to achieve RYA accreditation. We have successfully hosted our initial RYA inspection; accreditation is now contingent on the completion of a short action plan.
