Summary of the objects of the charity
TO RELIEVE THE SUFFERING OF ANIMALS IN NEED OF CARE AND ATTENTION AND, IN PARTICULAR, TO PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN A RESCUE AND REHOMING SERVICE FOR THE RECEPTION, CARE AND TREATMENT OF STRAY DOGS IN ROMANIA AND CYPRUS WHO BY REASON OF ABANDONMENT, NEGLECT OR MISTREATMENT ARE IN NEED OF SUCH CARE AND ATTENTION.
Summary of the charity's main activities
The trustees and a group of volunteers acting as Admin members of the UK Rescue charity, have come together to create a safe and secured Rescue Back up, for some of the stray and abused dogs and cats from Cyprus and Romania, which are found by individual animal lovers in appalling conditions. These rescuers have no means to pay for the medical needs of the dog or cat, or indeed rehome it either within their own country or abroad in a managed, safe and correct way.
FAAR will undertake to assist individuals/ small Rescue Pound centres (to commence with) from both countries, that all trustees have known and assisted over the last 5 years or more, on individual cases. We call these people the Lone rescuers, and as such they need full support to ensure the stray and abused dog or cat receives all the care it needs, and rehomed correctly.

Summary of the charity's main achievements in the period
Our first period as a registered Charity is a longer financial period of April 2019 to 31[st] Aug 2020, as we received Charity Registration in April 2019 and our rehoming commenced in Sept 2018, where we assisted in a handful of dogs in desperate need.
In late 2018 an application was made to charity commission, as we believed that we needed to be an established Charity to succeed in our long term goals and aspirations. We held a number of meetings, we created all the structures, processes, Policies, agreements, together with our Partnership agreements and Risk Assessments with our European Lone Rescuers.
We instantly created a Charity registration with PeTtrac, where we have registered all our dogs and cats’ microchips from the point of entry in to the UK, with Dual registration to our Charity. We further established a Rescue Partnership agreement with Agria Pet Insurance, and all our rescue pets have a 5 weeks free pet insurance once adopted.
We purchased and established from the very first adoption, a fully managed database known as Shelter Manager, which we maintain for all the financial and Pet details and since the 1[st] Sept 2020 we have transitioned to Sage 50 Accounts for digital management of all our accounts, Gift Aid and VAT returns.
A registration was also established with Pets4Home, adoption online portal, where we successful build our Rescue presence and promote all our dogs in our UK foster homes, that have been assessed and are ready for the forever homes.
From outset we registered with The Homecheck rehoming group, which carry out all our required home checks and strict GDPR regulations and followed by them and maintained at all times.
During the early months we started to recruit volunteers and foster homes, so we could assist with the rehabilitation of some of the dogs under our care in the UK, this has continued to grow.
We rehomed 405 dogs and 5 cats during the period of April 2019 to Aug 2020, and we took under our care a further 82 dogs in both Cyprus and Romania.
Our Facebook Group was created during this period and we established very quickly a strong following and a high number of adoptions and enquiries are to coming from our Facebook presence, Pets4Homes and recommendations.
We soon, realised that our team had to grow, in both Trustees and volunteers, where a number of administration roles needed to be filed, so we create a detailed rehoming structure for both Cyprus and Romania and we now have Rehoming Guardians for all our dogs and a follow up administration team. We have recruited further Trustees and Volunteers within our own supporters group.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Funds are raised in order to support a Stray dogs and cats in Cyprus and Romania, assisting with their local Care, rehoming the animals and Spay and TNR programs in, together with supporting Stray Animals and Shelters in Need for medical care and supplies.

I report to the Charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Charity for the period ended 31 August 2020 which are set out on pages 5 to 6.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011('the Act').
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed al the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
