## **Annual Report 2022**
This charity is governed by virtue of constitution, which was adopted on 8[th] January 2022.
The following are trustees of the charity:

## **The Trustees Report**
The Sikh Welfare Team was launched in 2009 with the aim to help enhance the life of young people in the local community through the provision of recreational and leisure time activities.
We offer a unique blend of educational workshops, fun activities and sports which give young people the opportunity to develop their personal and social skills and empower them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.
## **Objectives of our Youth Clubs:**
Provide advice and support to young people on issues they are experiencing.
Raise self-esteem and confidence among the youth.
Engage the youth in the development of activities and programs.
Enhance healthy growth and development of young people.
Promote sports, recreational and social activities.
Offer Counselling Services to the youth.
Develop hidden talents and potentials amongst the youth.
Connect young people back to their community and culture.
## **Projects undertaken this year:**
The charity has successful launched its 4[th] youth club in Watford.
## **Future Plans**
We are looking to set up an Outdoor Retreat that will provide our young people with a permanent home and a base for all our projects. As with our current projects we cater for young people aged 10 – 18.
The SWAT – Youth Outdoor Retreat will be a provision for young people from all backgrounds with the emphasise on enjoying the countryside and connecting with nature. Facilities will include:
- Glamping Tent’s that sleep up to 50 people (40 children & upto 10 adults).
- Separate male and female showers, and toilets.
- Camp Fire.
- Green House & Vegetable Patch.
- Climbing Wall/ Jacobs Ladder/ Zip Wire/ Leap of Faith – aerial activities.
- Air Rifle practise.
- Archery.
- Fully Equipped Kitchen.
- Dining Room.
- Workshop/ Arts & Crafts Room with projector.
- Games room with Table tennis/ Pool table & popular gameboards.
The SWAT – Youth Outdoor Retreat will provide young people with a screen-free, active, and fun experience, while learning new skills, making friends, and developing confidence.
We will also offer a bursary so the project reaches those individuals who would otherwise not be able to access these kinds of services. Especially in the current climate we would priorities young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, deprived areas, children in care, etc.
