The trustees have pleasure in presenting their report and the unaudited financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024.
## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT**
## **Governing document**
Splashing Stars Swim Charity which has the contact address of Stoney Cross, Spondon, Derby, is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) whose Registered Charity number is. 1182869. It became a registered charity on 8[th] April 2019
## **Trustee selection methods**
A skills audit has been undertaken to discover those skills which are required by the trustee body. Efforts are made to recruit trustees who meet the skill requirement. The overall composition of the trustee body aims to be as representative of the community as is possible
## **Risk management policy**
The trustees examine the major risks that the charity faces each financial year when preparing and updating the strategic plan. The charity has developed systems to monitor and control these risks to mitigate any impact that they may have on the charity in the future.
## **OBJECTIVES AND PERFORMANCE**
The relief of children and young adults with additional physical and mental health needs in Derby by provision of therapeutic swimming facilities, teaching and coaching for encouraging, promoting and developing such persons.

## **SUMMARY OF THE MAIN ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN RELATION TO THESE OBJECTS**
In planning our activities for the year we kept in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit at our trustees meetings.
Splashing Stars Swim Charity is open to all irrespective of race, gender or any other personal circumstances.

## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE**
The charity has been put on hold a little bit this year so fundraising and donations been low. We have managed to use charity funds for a new hoist in the wet room which has been super. This has enabled more swimmers to use the pool as were struggling with technical problems with the last hoist.
There has been a little bit ok knitting going on with some Easter chicks and bunnies, once again being done by Lorraine. Our swimmers love these and are sold very quickly!
Aquathlete helped with a donation towards the hoisted, this was £1000 so a big thank you to them.

## **Reserves**
As advised by the Charity Commission, Splashing Stars Swim Charity reserves policy seeks to provide sufficient monies to enable the organisation to properly finance its own termination. The Board has agreed to provide (wherever possible) an amount which equates to three months. At 31 December 2024 the charity had unrestricted reserves of £260.
## **Independent Examiners**
Derby Community Accountancy Service were appointed independent examiners in the year and will continue in office for the ensuing year.

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Splashing Stars Swim Charity**
I report on the accounts of the company for the year ended 31 December 2024 which are set out on pages 6 to 8.
## **Respective responsibilities of the trustees and examiner**
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner’s statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or
- the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
