Chairman’s Report – Annual General Meeting

Dear Members, Committee, Staff, and Parents,
It is my pleasure to present the Chairman’s Report for what has been an incredibly busy, rewarding, and successful year at Cylch. Our focus this year has been on creating an enriched learning environment for our children, investing in our staff, and fostering a strong sense of community through a wonderful calendar of events.
Welcome and Farewells
At the start of the year, we said a fond goodbye to Ellie, Harvey, Grace, and Esme as they moved on to their next adventures. We miss them dearly but are incredibly proud of the foundation we helped them build here.
Following their departure, we have been delighted to welcome new children throughout the year. Watching our new starters settle in, grow in confidence, and become part of the Cylch family is always a highlight of our year.
Enhancing Our Environment and Learning
A major milestone this year was the redecoration of the Cylch building. Thanks to successfully securing grant funding, we were able to give our space a fresh, vibrant, and much-needed makeover. Thank you very much to all the volunteers who supported this project.
This project has significantly improved our learning environment, creating a bright, welcoming, and inspiring space where our children can thrive, explore, and learn every day.
In addition to improving our physical space, we continue to invest in our incredible team. During the autumn term, our staff completed vital First Aid training , ensuring that our environment remains as safe as it is nurturing.
Trips, Adventures, and Activities
We have made sure this year was packed with memorable experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom:

Pentwyn Farm Trip: The children had a fantastic time exploring the great outdoors, learning about nature, and hunting for minibeasts.

Monkey Mania: A high-energy, fun-filled day out at soft play that was thoroughly enjoyed by all the children.

Creative Competitions: We rolled up our sleeves for the local scarecrow competition, having a brilliant time together making a giant Minion!
Fundraising and Community Support
As always, keeping our fees and costs low for our families is a top priority, which makes our fundraising efforts vital. This year’s highlights included:

The Annual Duck Race & Cake Sale: Held in July, this was a roaring success, raising much-needed funds to support the Cylch’s running costs.

Halloween: An October disco packed with amazing fancy dress, face painting, games, and a lot of fun.

Christmas Pottery: We hosted a wonderfully relaxing Christmas pottery painting evening for adults.

Easter Creativity: The children got to showcase their own artistic talents with a fun Easter pottery painting session.

The Charity Shop: A massive thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, sorted through stock, and donated items. Your generosity keeps us moving forward.
Celebrations and Social Events
We pride ourselves on marking a wide variety of cultural, charitable, and seasonal events. Over the past year, we have celebrated Remembrance Day, Children in Need, St David’s Day, St Dwynwen’s Day, Easter, and Christmas, enjoying a party and special visit from Sion Corn.

An organization like ours simply cannot run without the dedication of all involved.
I want to extend my deepest thanks to our exceptional staff for their unwavering care and professionalism, to our committee members for their time and strategic guidance, and to our parents and volunteers. Whether you baked a cake, painted a wall, bought a raffle ticket, or donated to the charity shop— thank you . Your support ensures that our Cylch remains a wonderful place for our children to take their first steps into education.
I look forward to another fantastic year ahead.
