Pai• 1.17

not ex¢lusively through leisure time activib8s, so as
to develop their capabilities that thèy may grow to full
matunty as individuals and members of society.
Summary ofthe main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activits'es, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
P•r• 1.17
and 1.19
In accordance with the chanty'$188s8 with W8verley
8orough Council the permitted use of the building is
as a "youth ¢entre and associated café lo include
community activities taking place at the property for
the benefit cf the local community including both
those provided diffjctly by the Tenant (Haslemere
Youth Hub) and those permitted by it..
Regular users are, therefore, limited to clubsl
organisations that provide aclivitieslfacilitiesladvi
for youths up to the age of 18 years old. But in
relation to a young person with Special Educallonal
Nèeds this is increas8d to 25 years old as the
Children and Families Act 2014 defines a 'young
p8rscn' as being aged 16-25.

The charity has found it more difficult to find

are retired, Duke of Edinburgh participants or those

Parn 1.20
There are about 25 community clubslorganisations
that provid8 a multitude of activilieslfacilitiesladvic6.
Some activities cnntinue lo go from strength to
strength, particulady our basketball club. We also
have somé new dubslorganisations who have joined
us. Unfortunately, there is still a need for support to
children's rnental health. We are still providing over
30 hours a weèk for this, through local authorities,
and pèrsonal counsellors.
The time-span to use the UK Shared Prosperity
Fund IUKSPFI has now ended. The charity used all
of the funding it was given over the 3 year-period.
This year this has enablèd us to.,
Purchase 2 sofas for the café lounga area
Upgrade our bouncy castle
Purchas8 an air fryèr to accommodato our
increased café range.
Buy a commercial dishwasher
Buy bèan bags for the youth lounge
Continue to support a youth worker
We hav8 been glven a grant through the National
Lottery Community Fund. This grant, over 3 years
will part-fund our youth worker, which is most
important now that the UKSPF funding has come to
an end. 11 will also help a Illlle towards general
running costs.
Having a full-time youth worker now enables us to
provide activities for more different groups. These
indude home educated, school refusers, parent
support evenings on topics that might occur with
their teenagers, young carers. The youth worker
successfully applied for some funding, over 3 years,
throu9h Waverley Borough Council's Thriving
Communities Grant.
The Surrey Police & Crime Commissioner's grant
slrearn contributed enabling us to offer some mult
sport activities free of charge.
A donation of £1,000 was received from the
Shottermill Greal War Memorial Trust for use on
activity days eg the youth worker has already tsken
some young people bowling.
Page2of7

A grant of £5,000 was given by the Albert Hunt
Trust, to be split 60140 bal￿88n youth worker and
running costs.
The charity's local Waitrose storé continues to give
financial support towards the cost of providing
fréellow-cost activities. These are particulady
important during school holidays frjr families with
little disposable income.
